I’ve really liked Brendan Dillan’s game this year on the Jets. Left D is our strongest depth position, both Heinola and Samberg need a spot to play. I’d hate to lose Dillan as he is one of our only guys who play with an edge but for the right price he’d be a great add for anyone in the playoffs. Also, on a decent contract with two more years. But I’d have no interested in dumping him for a couple mid round picks.

No this year isn't a write off by any stretch. Shesterkin is playing at a godly level. You have to capitalize on that if you can because who knows if you'll ever get it to this extent again.

I do think they're going to try to add a defenseman. They've gone 5-1-1 with DeAngelo out but if they can get another defender to pair with Pesce and push Skjei down to the 3rd pair with Ian Cole that would be helpful.

Maybe they go all in on Chychrun as is rumoured. Maybe not.

I could see them trying to get Josh Manson and creating a true shutdown 3rd pair.
