Allison must be touched in the head the amount he gets hurt. First game back he dives for a puck and cuts his arm? |

If he isnt dealt in the offseason, he will be bought out - xShoot4WarAmpsx
No doubt imo as well.
Only hope is Arizona as they will need to fill an nhl roster. 50% retained for a 7th will work. Though I expect a Ghost like deal.

With or without ivan this team stinks. You absolutely listen to offers and ask around. Doesn't mean you move him. - hello it's me 2050
It better be one hell of an offer because moving Provorov would be nothing short of stupid. |

They aren’t going to get better by trading their best players. Unless someone knocks it out of the park with an offer for Provy I’m not sure it makes any sense. - landros 2

Not if you are going to rebuild it isnt stupid. They are not going to rebuild however.

I’m not against this idea as much as I believe this is the type of move that will criticized all next season by fans, even though fans are asking for it now. One more season of JvR on a team that seems to be on the road to nowhere wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. |

It would be a bad idea if you rebuild or not. Moving Provorov would be a bad idea…period. |

Do you see this team being a legit contender in the next 3 years?

You keep coming back to this notion because they’re not good, we don’t need pieces. Provorov is a key piece. Bad or good, the Flyers still need to put the best possible product on the ice.
Your logic is so flip floppy. If they trade Provorov and get worse, you’re gonna female dog even more for losing more games, knowing full well they’re not a good team. |

Where will JVR be going? He has a year left, doesn't he? - PT21 If they can't unload him to some sad sack GM I would imagine that they would buy out the last year of his contract. They simply can't let this lazy ass dude contaminate this team any longer. |

Im not trading IP without a stark overpayment and Chuck can barely hold off from from being raped. If you trade IP, you do so in a complete tear down which means Hart, Farabee, Couts as well |

A tear down will not happen nor will any real rebuild. If it did you can keep Joel and Hart as they are young enough to build around.

Don’t worry. They play every game like it’s a must lose. |

Hart is the reason theyre not deadlast in the league. If they tear down, do you risk him getting straffed night after night and having it wear on him....similar to last year and having his value decline. A complete tear down will take years to get to the point where have those guys worth it.
theyre stuck with risto hahaha.....Sanheim may be gone.....I wouldnt subject Hart to the dreck left behind |

Is it possible CC is actually on the same page as Chuck and Scott believing they are only a few players away? Therefore he wants to stay? |

If buyout, I see a cap savings of 2.6m for next year, and a deficit of 1.3m odd for theyear after. He is on pace for about 20 goals 33 points on a poopty team. They will not be able to replace that for 2.6 m next year let alone the defiict of 1.3 the year after.
If they withheld salary, they might be able to trade him, but its unlikely they will get anything significant back. If they don't withhold salary they would have to sweeten the pot, al la Ghost.
It seems like it would be more useful to hope Couts and Hayes come back healthy, he has a bounceback year, and brings a 1st/prospect at the TDL next year as a rental.
Not seeing the logic why they should get rid of him this off season. |

Feeling around the team is Giroux would be open to returning in the offseason. If this were to be confirmed it would hurt his trade value as he would be a guaranteed rental with no chance of signing with his new team

He's currently a 3rd line player making 7 mill a season. You can easily replace the 20 goals he scored. His replacement would be a cheaper younger guy who can pot 10-15 goals. The extra can be made up elsewhere by improving the goals output of the top 6. Having Couturier back will help that and getting Konecny scoring again would also help

The improved goal output of the top 6 can happen presumably with or without JVR.
The cheaper guy (whoeever he is) pots 10-15 goals still leading a deficit of 10-5 goals respectively.
So you have a goal deficit in '22-23 with no cap savings, a deficit of -1.3m the year after that that is dead weight, and also the deficit of foregoing possibly the return JVR could bring at the TDL next year if he gets hot. Which your 10-15 goal guy won't bring.
How exactly do we come out ahead?
Crap you have suckered me into debating the wingspan of a fly on the corpse.

They can apply that savings to the remaining cap space they have along with any other cap saving moves they make to enter the UFA market. Your logic failed to see all the possibilities.

Lets say CC gives a list of 4 teams. Lets say he tells the GM his preference is team x. What does the GM do:
1. Honor his request and trades him to team x. Even if it is a lesser offer than other teams.
2. Take the best offer. Regardless of team. - hello it's me 2050
a good GM does option two - chuckles will throw in a sweetener to make sure option one happens |
