We needed a rebuild, Gillis realized that. The quicker, the more painless. I think FA went to the first idiots that told him he didn't and hired them. Then he fired one that wanted to take a bit more time, then he fired the other because he ran out of time.
Now we have an impatient owner with a Pres that is literally running out of time. Can't wait! - golfingsince
Yeah, FA needs to lose a couple hundred million in team value to force the family to take it away from him, but all these talking heads keep these fans frothing at the mouth and throwing money at this loser organization. |

Ultimately they got the call right though, isnāt that the most important thing? Iād be more upset about the missed call on the icing that ended up in a goal, and the quick whistle when the puck was loose and ended up in a no goal. - 1970vintage
I've seen follow throughs called and stick too many times to count this season and every season including on the Canucks. Once in a blue moon they review it but overwhelmingly not. Two games in a row it's happened to the Canucks late in a game were they were pushing hard. You can focus on the vast minority they get it right on this... that doesn't change that they hardly every get it right. I want consistency. Do it every time or never do it at all. But instead the way they use it looks shady AF... which is how the NHL rolls...

Watching the replay of the early whistle cost us a goal. How come not reviewable? Do they want to get it right cuz the whistle had no effect on the play. |

Probably because once the whistle blows, the play is dead, you can't just unwhistle and say oh because we blew the whistle too early while the puck was still visible and in play the goal stands even though the whistle signals the play dead officially. It's the same idea as goals not counting if the puck is still moving and go in after time runs out, after the clock reaches 0.0, it doesn't matter where the puck is or if it's still moving.
It isn't like basketball where the ball is still in play until it either goes in the basket or hits the ground when it's shot at the buzzer. |

Ok when the whistle blows refs cannot reverse calls. They didnāt review the net tripping the D. |

I think Tampa's a better team than us, you can find calls any game.
We're still only a few points out with 20+ games to play. |

I can find you the relevant passages in the NHL rulebook, but video review only applies for major penalties to confirm them, goal/no goal reviews due to potential high stick, distinct kicking motion, official time on the clock, coaches challenges due to offside or goalie interference. Anything else isn't reviewable according to the rulebook. |

Was the reversed high stick call tonight a major? Even if there was blood, it would have been a double minor.

I missed 2 minutes of the game, so happens it was when the darn refs made the Canucks lose.
Anyways, a couple seasons back, the follow through rule was introduced, allowing a player to legally highstick someone, without it being a penalty.
Pretty sure that is what happened in this instant, but not sure, as I didn't see it. |

The ref was right there, someone might have blocked his view, if thatās the case assuming the goalie has it covered isnt the right call. |

Tampa defiantly was better than last night, they took the night off. After the first 10 minutes the canucks played well but you cant get behind early on good teams. |
