You guys have seriously bad luck with your wish lists lol.
Of the names I've seen mentioned a lot here, Carter - resigned, Miller - playing too well to be traded most likely, Pavelski - resigned, Chychrun - hurt yesterday, Copp - hurt tonight, Hertl - rumored to resign. If you get much lower down the list, we have a slightly used Kapanen in the discount bin.
This asinine faith in Chytil blows my mind. Goodrow, Barron, Kakko would be better. - aecliptic
It’s not asinine, the kid has played with Gauthier (3 goals) McKegg for a little (2 goals) Barron (0 goals) Brodzinski (0 goals), not sure how much he played with Kakko but he only had 5 goals and Laf was under 10 goals before he got moved to the 1st line. He’s definitely worked on his game and is putting the effort in. He just turned 22 and is playing with AHL wingers, I don’t even think Zib could help those guys he’s playing with score.

Its easy to blame his linemates. But with all the praise and hype that he gets from so many something has got to give right? Hes played now 233 games, thats an insane amount of games, far more than a hockey player drafted is expected to play. As of today, almost 63% of the time he hits the ice the puck is in the offensive zone. This number hasnt been below 55% his career. Playing with LAF and Gauthier isnt a bad thing, sure Gauthier has his issues finishing but theyre not complete scrubs, especially not LAF. 233 games, and weve gotten mediocre results. Hes not physical, he cant win faceoffs, hes clearly not trusted to play in the defensive zone and hes not scoring. Its not working.

I'd swear that Gauthier, Rooney, Reaves, and McKegg have all had more great scoring chances this season that they couldn't convert than the rest of the forwards combined. They work hard but have nothing to show for it and no one to blame but themselves. If some semi-talented replacements had those chances, the Rangers would have nothing to worry about. At least Reaves has a different role and he performs that well enough to keep a starting spot.
Chychrun was supposed to have an MRI yesterday or today to determine the severity of his injury and whether he could still be made available by the trade deadline.

Craig Anderson has looked good in net for the Sabres for the past few weeks. I wonder if that's who the Rangers target as a backup for the stretch run.

Rangers could trade for Mike Liut and I’d have more confidence in him than I do in Georgy
