I don't mind trading a forward for a defensemen in most scenario's because the next sort of wave of better looking prospects are forwards.

Easier to find a no name forward and turn him into something vs the other way around.

Hoping the new regime is willing to spend a fair amount of picks on defenseman, and I mean drafting them, not trading picks for them.

With all due respect, Myers is a #4 defenseman, a #5 on a good team.

Totally agree the key is the 3D has to be legit that is OEL imo. Hughes needs a true 1/2D to compliment him. The bottom pairing would then be better given the TOI & roles.

Any trading of Boeser does weaken scoring from wingers. We depend on our C’s to score & carry the team. Garly is next up with Pearson. The kids are still finding their form & cannot be counted on yet. Losing Boesers goals could be offset a bit with a key D UFA like Klingberg while also improving the D bumping down others into a better role. Cap obviously is the mission to find. The assets for Brock would have to be a win no matter what.
