Hopefully not too much, hes meh at the plate and hes only under contract this year, has arb 3 rights next year i believe then is an ufa the year after.

Worth remembering that Chapman finished 2020 playing with a torn labrum in his right hip, which required surgery that Sept.

Could certainly have contributed to his results at the plate since. And Chapman made up for quality of contact dip with a career-high walk rate in '21.

With the benefit of more time to heal, fresh coaching, and a huge upgrade in offensive environment from Oakland to Toronto, Blue Jays would be betting Chapman can address contact issues, get back to something approaching 2018-19 levels when he was an MVP candidate.
