I think you have to go for it.

You have to be a good team to win in the MLB. There is no being above average for 5 years and hoping for the best.

That's not happening and no one would offer that, Jays have lots of pieces including Kirk, Biggio and tons of pitching. Ramirez a switch hitter. Still need another Lefty bat IMO

Not better than Muzzin imo. I hope Muzzin returns to form but even if he is what he was this season instead of last season he still is a guy who can handle 2nd pairing mins...just can't carry a pairing like he was.

Seems like he is a guy who would dominate defensively on the 3rd pairing but could also play on the 2nd pairing if Muzzin is faltering even more.

To me the main reason they would want him is his 750K cap hit, which means they could add more to the team after they add him. Also if he plays less than 17 games for the remainder of the season he remains an RFA which just adds in the factor of Leafs being able to send him away for an asset at the draft if they do not intend on signing him.

If you trade him for Dermott and a 2nd/3rd then maybe you can get that pick back at the draft.

I like Middleton because I am on the side of trying to upgrade the other positions as well.

I don't think fans would like the Middleton price but like I said, if they play their cards right and keep his RFA rights they could retain some value.

I don't love Soucy because of his cap hit.

I read the suggestion - and it is by Buck Martinez. Menoah is about to be an ace and Moreno is the absolute top prospect in the system. Jays can afford to give more than they gave up to Oakland for Chapman. That doesn't include anything about being taken out back to the shed.
