Chapman is a fantastic fit because he's a perennial GG 3B.

Ramirez is a great fit because he can potentially play 2B.

Freeman has a great bat but is not a good fit because he and Vladdy play the same position. You could potentially platoon them 1B/DH but that isn't ideal. Vladdy is NOT a good fielder (putting it mildly) at 3B so that was never going to work (hence, the Chapman acquisition).

Not sure how much clearer I can be.

Word going around is Rays are being aggressive in Freddie Freeman talks. Hard to believe they are in at all on a free agent superstar to begin with. If they can outbid the Dodgers and Red Sox and everyone else, that would be something.

Freeman to Tampa would suck, Tampa was trying to split their home games with Montreal this year before the deal was overturned by the league. Their attendance sucks but here they are trying to sign one of the most expensive Free Agents in baseball this season.
