Ehlers has been puzzling me this year with low energy plays, going down and then a lack of urgency to get back up and into the play, looking at the ceiling after a shot, and this breakaway of low energy. Then he flashes his talent again and shows what he can do leaving me to scratch my head.
Maybe its usage? Injury hangover? Coaching?
Its hard to beleive that Wheeler is almost a point a game player this year. His consistency isn't there game in game out like it was in previous years. - Old Flopper
I am looking at his linemate 55. He's not in 100%, at least Wheeler has the ageing excuse. |

Scheifele looks checked out and disinterested a lot of the games but it can't help that's he's playing with a 35 and 36 year old who are best suited to being 3rd liners at this point.

Jets signed a goalie today thats been playing with the Moose, maybe Berdin or Holm got hurt or something idk.
They also sent Vesalainen to the Moose.

Sell !
Copp
Stastny
Dillon , like him, but Chariot price means you have to explore
Explore market for Scheifele after the draft lottery, he really only is engaged in the offensive zone. He’s playing like he has the heart the size of an aspirin and it shows.

Jets need to start making moves. They are going to let this glorious opportunity to effectively retool on the fly disappear. |

Why does everyone want to trade Scheifele without first exploring how well he does under a new coach? We are already having challenges scoring goals. This will only put our franchise back by a few years. |

A lot of trades happening now and Copp and Statsny are going to start losing value as the top teams are now loading up. Prices will now start to drop.

If you think Scheifele has another level in the neutral zone our the defensive zone then wait for a coach I guess.
He’s an established player to see the least and not sure True North makes a big splash on the coaching front….Pascal Vincent coming back from Columbus for cheap makes sense.
I said “explore” , not 100% trade him.
Lindholm and Chariot are bringing in HUGE packages…I hope Chevy picks his phone up. |

Lafreniere is going to cost at least 2 first round picks and a prospect or an established star, or borderline star.
He’s the 20 year old 1st overall pick with team control on $$ for next 6-8 years .
I like Copp a lot but we have to get an asset for him

Yea something along that line would be great!
Or Lafreniere, Schneider and Jets own 4th pick - back to Jets for Copp, Dillon, Heinola and Vesalainen? Seems funny that the Jets picked up another young goalie today, doesn't it? |

Schneider and Lafreniere are not coming here for that package.
Schneider way ahead on development and looks fantastic, physical also. |

No? So what if you add in Samberg? Good young LH d-man for good young RH d-man (Schenider) plus Heinola?
So Lafreniere, Schneider, and Jets own 4th round pick back - for Copp, Dillon, Heinola, Vesalainen and Samberg?
Rangers are going for Cup - this year. I think that would be close, or even an over-payment in some quarters? |

NYR obviously have no room for Lafreniere on his natural LW side for the foreseeable future. He has not played well at RW. This is why is is suddenly an expendable commodity but won't come cheap because at his natural position he is quite talented with lots of upsides to come. With Connor at LW playing with Dubois and Statsny and Copp ( both also playing LW) potentially getting traded , suddenly Lafreniere could fit in very well with Scheif and Wheeler on LW. Makes a lot of sense.
What are the Rangers needs down the road? Strome is a UFA so they need a center. Copp could be that guy if re-signed or they could ask for Nathan Smith who would fill their center needs for the second or third line. So this trade might make even more sense.
Lafreniere...... for Copp or Stats , Nathan Smith, and Dylan Samberg ( no room on D roster on Jets anyways ) . Good trade for both sides and keeps the Jets in the playoff hunt. It would be hard for any Jet fan not to be ecstatic at a trade like that. |

Not sure of the Nathan Smith situation, is he planning on signing with the Jets or not? Seemingly highly regarded, but how high I wonder?
Anyways, yes, you sold me on this trade. Hopefully Chevy - and the Rangers - as well.

I have been wondering this as well on Smith. I am not 100% sure but I thought he was "Connorish" type of player but I could be wrong. I have been looking for statments that he would sign but can't find anyhting like that.
Maybe he ends up being part of a package, who knows as all we hear is crickets. |

Wondering about Bowen Byram........
Copp and Heinola for Byram ? |

This is more likely if you want to trade for Lafreniere. I see the package being something like:
TO NYR: Ville Heinola, 2022 first round pick, 2023 or 2024 first round pick & Andrew Copp
To WPG: Alexis Lafreniere
I actually think that package is something that could be done. |

I am on board for trading Heinola. I also think the Jets should be exploring trading Pionk. Since we are now stuck with that horrible Nate Schmidt contract - in hindsight it would have been great if his stuck to his horses and refused to waive his NTC to come to Winnipeg. |

Problem being with Byram is that he already has concussion issues.
Not very big, LH - but certainly is highly regarded skilled guy. Perhaps, I have mixed feelings here. Possible I guess. |

Absolutely I do. Yzerman used to receive the same condemnation until a guy by the name of Scotty Bowman showed up. Yzerman ended up winning 3 cups afterwards. |

No offense Ultimate but that's terrible for the Jets, those 1sts will be good picks plus Heinola for a guy who's looking more like a bust everyday, have you looked at Lafreniere's stats, they're not good.
I'd rather just get a 2nd for Copp, let's hope Chevy and ownership can see the writing on the wall and do what's right at this trade deadline and trade Copp, Stastny and perhaps some other guys, its time for a change. |
