Even if the Nucks managed to sneak in the 'they'll be out in 4' crowd from the #whinersguild would still be relentless. No different than when we beat STL the cup champs and took Vegas to 7 games...we were supposed to be out in 4 in both series...

Especially if you don't think the team is close to being a contender, which I personally, do not think they are or even one or two pieces away. They lack a /young/ 1C that can handle the bulk of the offense (even if Miller is that 1C, he's 30 and likely to decline starting in the next few years, and EP40 clearly can't be counted on as a C 1st line or not) and a 1D that can play in all situations and not just provide offense, but solid defense as well (even in his best projections, QH is just never going to be that kind of player, he's Erhoff or Lumme but with higher offensive skills) and better top 6 wingers.

Like I said, Boudreau is only here for this year and next to try and squeeze out playoff revenue for a round or two and then he's off to the next team who's actually close but isn't a very good regular season team (like an Edmonton). He's never shown, nor ever been a guy to get a team to the promised land of a Cup. He's never even been to a Finals for that matter.

- DariusKnight

I'm not like some that are either completely far left or far right on the team. Either in 1st or they're 32nd.

You say they aren't two pieces away. I think they need to add the right pieces. Not as far off as the fans that think this team is and always has been in 32nd place in a 31 team league until this year.

Hughes was never going to be an all situations defender. That's fine. He's 1 of 6 that play every night. Can surely keep Hughes and find the right mix of other defenders.

As for Bruce, he's a good coach and he might not end up ever getting his shot. His teams have played 16 games in playoffs at the most. I think he's got good guys with him Scott Walker and Brad Shaw. Those two have shown to be able to clearly improve the players games over the previous coaches.

Multiple first round picks from Tampa to CHI for Hagel.

The price for a cost controlled young forward. Wow

According to Dhaliwal, one of the teams calling Vancouver about Garland is the LA Kings and he wonders if one of the players #canucks  are interested is Alex Turcotte.
@BuckFoston_

This is the guy I wanted to slip in the draft, even though I knew he wouldn’t. One of the few from that USNDP team that hasn’t really broken out yet.

Edit - Garland for Edler and Madden in the reply’s

- 1970vintage

LA has a few RHD that would improve the Canucks blue line in the future as well. Faber, Grans

Turcotte and one of those two would be enough for Garland

You're alive.

Damnit, a 6th round draft pick. I wanted him in the 4th but that 4th was traded away for Gudbranson.

Damn that Gudbranson traded really (frank)ed up the Canucks organization

He was a good pickup. Green didn’t know how to use him. Sutter does.

In Benning's defence, Chariot was just traded for a boat load and he sucks almost as much as Gudbranson.

Motte has to be worth at least a 1st, Garland a 1st and a 2nd.

Except for the contract status. Motte about to get a raise, Garland already over paid for four more years. Hagel is cheap for this year plus two more and then is an RFA. That’s worth extra. Tanner Pearson maybe gets you a 1st?

I think Hagel’s value to Tampa was inflated because Chicago knows how badly Tampa wants a cheap effective player signed past this season. Tampa didn’t have many other options besides Hagel that would have the same impact and contract.

They might just rent him for 2 playoff runs and then trade him as a RFA

I like him as a player and he is a legit 2LC...but a massive disappointment as Captain which I did not expect. I may have mentioned it a few times lol

Sutter needs to be careful as the Gudbranson/Zadorov pairing can be massively exposed in the PO's especially on line-matching vs clubs like COL. Monahan is also a concern at 3LC for Sutter. Suprised Monny isn't rocking under Sutter.

Monahan is broken. I think he’s had multiple surgeries in recent years

Ya kind of wondered if it's injury related. He used to be money out there but now Sutter has him buried in the bottom 6...where he won't succeed anyways. I like the kid it's too bad hope he rebounds.

You chill first. I was having more fun Captain Buzzkill. 😁 I'm hitting the kit instead. My Buddy has me learning the Ozzy song Diary of a Madman. Super fun because it's so heavily influenced by Classical.

Nice. Yeah Rhodes had that Neo-Classical style as did EVH (the king) but man those Ozzy tracks are stellar....and hard to play on guitar correctly. Funny how it affects the drums as well. Most Metal and classical share alot of the same musical properties. Learning Over the Mountain right now and guitar and The Sentinel by Judas Priest. Outstanding tracks.

March 18: On a live chat with followers today, Chris Johnston of NorthStar Bets explained that his understanding is the Senators’ most recent offer to Paul was a four-year, $10MM contract. Paul is reportedly looking for something with an average annual value closer to $3MM.

20 points in 56 games twice and he wants 3M a season? The cap does go up every year and the cap isn't really the cap anymore. It's more like a really soft LTIR cap.

There's just no way he is worth 3M a season. I'm sure he is looking at something similar to what Colton Sisson's got in Nashville. 7 years 2.857153 AAV.

3M is pretty much the going rate for average 3rd liners it feels like.

Like I don’t think people would complain about JD as much if he was effective as Paul.

That being said, Ottawa should probably stay firm on the 4yr/10M offer

Howdy,

Sorry I'm a little late today. Was busy this morning — and the Hagel trade was revealing itself, which was a matter of much interest to me. And you, I presume?

Anyway, new blog is up now:

Feels like it but those are the contracts that tend to turn out of the worst though.

If he was 23 years old maybe. At 26, 27 in two days. I would take the 4/10 that Ottawa is offering.

Mike Amadio recently signed 2 years 765K in Vegas. Teams will find someone who is cheaper.

Only reason Ottawa offering that is because they have the space.

Plays 17 minutes a night on a bad Ottawa team and is 311th in PPG among forwards who have played 22 plus games this season.
