I agree. But you imagine that if he has a decent shot and can actually hit the net they kind of have to give him a try here and there with Strome and Panarin. If he doesn't work out just move him down when Kakko comes back. It looks like a win win either way.

Those guys need a forechecker with them. Helps gain possession and allows Panarin/Strome to get to the dangerous parts of the ice to make plays. Likely why Hunt is still with them. Even though he’s average at it, he still applies decent board pressure and is constantly the first guy in the corners. Kakko is fantastic in this regard.

Is that something Vatrano can do? Tbd, but if he establishes that role on the third line…send him up!
