Very stealth like trade this one was. He’s gonna have to do that again probably. |

Vatrano flew under everyones radar, and at the cost of a 4th... theres gotta be more quality players out there that are available who would be a "steal".
For the 4th line... Deslauriers, Carpenter... theres no way they would cost much. It would free up Goodrow to the 3rd line. However we would still need one more depth piece to get Gauthier out. With a healthy team we would have Goodrow, Chytil and Vatrano on the 3rd line, which is kinda small but feisty.
I just dont want to see anymore of these AHL players. |

I think there is, theres still moves to be made.
However, I think Drury has shown his hand to the fans I believe in that he will not overpay for depth. |

Just curious what the consensus was on that. I would agree but saw something where he would have to be included in the deal for the Hawks to be interested. |

Elliotte Friedman stated on "Sports Net" that the Panthers acquiring of Chiarot does not remove them from being in the hunt still for Giroux. The Panthers are another team besides Boston I reported here earlier, and likely also Pittsburgh who will be going "ALL IN" prior to the deadline for no less than a Stanley Cup. |

The cost for giordano is going to be insanely high - picklerick
Giordano's price immediately skyrocketed yesterday I felt in mentioning it then, after news broke of the Kings losing Drew Doughty for the regular season's balance, for their second d'man now lost of recent extendedly with injury. That coupled as well with the news of Chychrun's ankle injury costing him 2 to 4 weeks in the lineup for those interested in buyers to deal with Arizona.
Now with Chiarot going to Florida, another Kings deadline backline option is gone, as it is for the Blues and Leafs of key. The Rangers were out of that bidding war in not wanting to pay Gorton's asking price of an upper level prospect, and a 1st Rounder for the higher quality rated 2023 draft, as opposed to this Summer's.
Despite word today of Chychrun receiving a second opinion on his ankle injury, in now having him able to return in two weeks only; as with Kakko's wrist injury, there is no guarantee Chychrun will be 100% healthy in two weeks. The initial word with Kakko was his injury being of "no great concern." That shortly later became "week to week" status wise; which it still is today two plus months later after necessary surgery requiring time to heal 100% properly. |

Many of the major NHL experts "tj" have stated that, due to the talent level being much greater in the 2023 draft than this Summer's one.

That coupled as well with the news of Chychrun's ankle injury costing him 2 to 4 weeks in the lineup for those interested in buyers to deal with Arizona.

Why are we talking about the kings and what does Dustin brown have to do with their defense? Dude just trim these things down like 75%. Sometimes less is more |

Thats assumed, but everything we do in ACGM as far as signings and resignings involve dumping Nemeth and not taking back any D contract so that we can keep everyone. |

Nice start to the silly season for Drury. Solid move , with very little downside. I wanted nothing to do with Chiarot, so Florida taking him with the cap space we helped to give them is an added bonus!
Really cool how with all of the speculation of who we might get, NOBODY had us getting Vatrano! |

Thanks for noting my error there, Rick, (which I corrected), with Drew Doughty obviously being the d'man of the two, and the Kings second lost recently long term due to injury. Despite initially mentioning this correctly on Monday (6:58pm - pg. 8 of the "Rangers Win Over the Stars" blog), I simply in a rush heading out, mistakenly posted "Brown"; since he just being injured at S.J. on Saturday, was also placed on I.R. with Doughty simultaneously a few days ago.
The Kings now have 6 defensemen sidelined overall from short to long term. That led to additional minor league recalls plus reserves being in the lineup against the Avs on Tuesday. Yet they held the highly offensively powered Avs to just 3 goals in that 3-0 home loss, & still remain in 2nd in the Pacific with 74 points in trailing only the Flames by 7. That's because the Kings win games primarily with their defense, including defense received from their forwards. But their mounting backline injuries only increases higher the trade cost for any team needing to acquire backline help by the deadline. |
