ALso, also, you guys talk a lot of poop about Chariot. He shut down this (frank)ing team last year. Would've loved him in Toronto.
Somebody remind me which of the Leafs dmen are better at making the front of the net miserable for the opponent??? - underhill14
The Habs did a lot of things last year, just prior to sucking historic donkey balls. |

That’s great if you think the core stepping up is enough by itself. If not, if you think you need to make improvements to the D or upgrade in net, you act. Maybe the top end guys are too expensive but then you find something else. - Canada Cup
I also do not believe in the Mcdavid, Dri approach.
I also hate when people say teams need to find the "answer" at the TDL.
You just make your team better in a non controllable market the best you can. |

Nah. Leafs got Price'd.
And the standard has been reaffirmed. Leafs are allowed to get crosschecked in the chops all day long but aren't allowed to give anything back. |

Disagree. IF he stands pat it likely means the market was absurd. It would mean he wasnt about to bankrupt us.
This is from what they said the core’s time to step up and prove themselves. They have been backed and supported. If they falter again, then I think no he isnt fired but gonna be some serious moves made. - Roadrunner75
I would agree with that in principle... except for one part. The injury status of Muzzin complicates "things". Without Muzzin (playing reasonably well) the Leaf's D simply isn't capable of handling playoff physicality ... BUT that doesn't mean Dubas has to entirely mortgage the future.
Dubas must add at least one semi-physical defender by the trade deadline. |

Chariot didn't do that by himself. Weber, Edmundson and every Petry contributed to the cross-checking olympics last year.
Chariot would have been a help had Dubas been able to get him ... but frankly that price for Chariot was pretty steep.

This (frank)ing guy. I don't know whether to love him or hate him. - GreatGigInTheSky
if he’s right, I love him. I saw someone say he was saying Cleveland had a scout in Dunedin watching Kirk. Either way, I want him to do hockey |

I can see why the list for suitors was long for him...Every playoff team would love to have him on the 3rd pairing.
But that price is crazy, he struggles in the majority of his mins. |

I agree on upgrading. We need more physicality and size. Now yes Boosh is a good start but….
For me one if bot both of Soucy and Middleton added. Maybe both with Muzz being dead and who knows how long his zombie state holds up. Soucy plays both sides too.
Up front Blackwell is a you g cheap physical option who can contribute and skate. Donato isnt bad either. Poor man’s Kerfoot really. Inexpensive but gritty and effective.
I think Mrazek likely is an offseason unload.
Really though thinking comes down to what they ask for them. Dubas can want to make moves all he lokes but if they arent being realistic and demanding too much aint happening. |

exactly
but as much as Dubas and Shanahan want to believe that Muzzin will return - there's simply no way to know with the head bonks.
I would think practically - at this point - they have to planning for the playoffs without him

I find it hard to believe Dubas adding 2 D if he plans on getting Muzzin back in the lineup. A lot of assets to pay when one of them likely isnt even in the lineup.
If they plan on Muzzin not starting until playoffs(could be the case) then yes 2 D is possible. |

Manson is better for sure.
MTL and Avs are huge winners here, FLA massive loser. |

As Your Mod even said, quite cryin and whining about last year's PO's, Chariot, penalties etc, give it a rest. - henny1953
no one is whining ... although I must assume you as a Canucks fan wandering into another fanbase's forum know much better what we are thinking than we do ourselves.
Luongo, Nathan Horton and Chara's cross-checks must be top of mind for you - so I won't spend any time trying to equate your pain with what we may have experienced.

He participated in a full practice today, wouldn't do that if he wasn't healed from his concussion.(I sure hope not)
Now its all up to how safe they want to be. |

Think it depends A) on Muzzin for sure and B) do you need to include either Sandin or Lilly in a deal?! And C) Could you move Holl? |

That just means he managed to clar the protocol. How the concussion affects him is still to be seen. He has a damaged brain. See how he practices too. |

1) They're not my Leafs. I do not own them or run them. I just live here.
2) Chiarot vs. Toronto last year was outshot 125-70, outscored 8-5, and had no points. The Leafs blew that series, but Chiarot wasn't the reason why. They controlled the game when he was on the ice.
I do not care if you think Chiarot has a net positive effect....that is never a recipe for success. |

I'd be shocked.
Seattle sent their AGM to the game against the Stars so I am sure they were getting one last look at Holl(Dermott was not playing) |

There is no way you can blame the core for that defense and goaltending, but sure, step up. |
