Regarding Zach Parise, my understanding at the moment is that he’s unlikely to get moved.

*These things can always change* … but, I don’t think he’s been approached yet by Lou, and this morning he spoke about how he’d welcome a return to the #Isles next season.

Another pending UFA on the #Isles, of course, is Andy Greene. And, same as Parise, I don’t think he’s been approached yet about moving. It would probably have to be something he’d actively pursue, and I don’t get the impression that’s something he wants to do.

Going to be a very quiet deadline.

Although now that I said that Lou will trade for McDavid or something.

McDavid and Draisaitl both.

I would think that Lou would try to re-sign the UFAs he wants back for next season. If he can't work out a deal, why not trade them for picks/prospects, instead of losing them for nothing?

Sounds like Parise and Greene aren't interested in moving and it seems like Lou is willing to oblige them on that one

Parise and Greene have been good but if we’re penciling in a 40 yr old defenseman into a full time role next season I’m not exactly huge on the idea. Everyone forgets how abysmal he was last playoffs after playing all season. He was BAD.

Not till the off-season. And only for a solid second pair LD with affordable term.

I don't think (read: hope) Greene has anything to with next season. I just think that he hasn't asked Lou to move him and Lou is a loyal guy and won't, unless it's requested. I assume these guys don't want to be separated from their families for a few months.

If Lindholm makes it to UFA, that's the guy I want. A top-four of Pelech/Pulock, Lindholm/Dobson is a crew I'd go to war with.

Gotcha. Hope so Greene has been a good soldier but it’s time to move on. Parise on a light contract fine.

That would be an add for sure but you’re not doing that straight up. I doubt the league is as enamored with Beau as much as you guys are

100% agree. Gotta think Salo will be in the mix for a job next year.

I was referring to Palmieri. I don’t know when he got injured but he was bad right out of the gate. I agree he’s been fantastic lately but his poor start (and others too) are the reason we’re on the outside looking in.
- streaks

Yes I know.
Palms had a nagging injury in the beginning of the year which he tried to play through.
They decided to put him on IR (which most didn’t realize he was on) to heal and obviously it was the right decision.

Nah. A quick young, quick skating do all top 6 forward, on a short term sub 5 mill deal would interest more than a few teams.

I don't hate Aho competing for that spot either, I actually think he's done pretty well this year after not playing very many games over the previous two seasons. It took him a little bit to get going, but I like what he brings. If they move Chara I hope he gets some good minutes and a real chance to show what he can do with a little consistency. Last I heard about Salo, Trotz wasn't too happy with the way he was playing in Bridgeport so I think he may be there for the rest of the season even though fans will piss and moan about it.

And to complete the natural hat trick of posts:

David Pagnotta
@TheFourthPeriod
Vegas has been exploring the goalie market. I don't believe they have an appetite for a guy with term (i.e. Varlamov with 1-year left on his deal at $5M). Is someone like Greiss or Korpisalo (both UFAs in July) more to their liking? We shall see...

LOL on pissing and moaning fans!
Also agree on Salo. I think he’s gonna push for a spot next year. For me Aho can go although he’s ok as # 7 I guess.
I think supporting cast roles will be what Lou concentrates on this off season. I think they’re happy with the D and forward core.

Well… no.

But I will work for nothing more than Lee’s old mouth guards.

So there’s that.
