He just picked up an assist, so that’s taking the edge off. |

I have to admit that I was never really a fan of Nelson early on, but ever since he has been placed in the #2 spot. He has become a solid player. |

I'm not expecting much of anything to be honest. Maybe Clutterbuck. Perhaps Chara or Greene for a last ride. I have a funny feeling Varly will stay, which I'm fine with. In fact, I wouldn't be opposed to him working out an extension if he could take a slight discount. (Unlikely). The return needs to be overwhelming IMO
I think their performance of late makes the case that we just need to add 1-2 pieces and they should be fine. |

Agree with all. If Clutter gets moved I wouldn’t be surprised if he signed over the summer for a team friendly deal.

So Calgary only has a No.2 in the upcoming draft. If Clutter goes to the Flames, and Lou retains salary bc Flames have not cap space.
I want Jakob Pelletier in return. |

Read this online today discussing what to expect from Lou at the deadline.
“Lamoriello is the most secretive GM in the NHL. He’s been known to cancel potential deals that get leaked to the media. He could stand pat, make a minor move or surprise us all with a blockbuster. Your guess is as good as mine.”
Isn’t that the truth |

I always get a kick out of folks who say: "My sources say that Lou will...."
The only person who can answer that is Lou. I think Trotz was genuine in saying that Lou doesn't even tell him. |

I could be wrong, but I don't believe teams and players can sign extensions until the final year of the player's contract. Since Varly has another year remaining, I don't think they can sign him to an extension until July 1st or thereabouts. Of course, I suppose they could "quietly" negotiate an extension, and wait to sign off on it until July. |
