I disagree. I’ve watched them some and their biggest weakness is their awful 3rd D pair. Only 6 teams have given up fewer goals in the league. They were way too loose last night and took the Flyers lightly. - Minnyhock
Nashville is 11th in the league in goals against. They do it with goaltending rather than tight defense.

When did this start to occur to you? The season has been a lost season for months now. Yeo is and has been coaching more for his future than for the Flyers future. - MJL
Not as soon as it occurred to you, but I have to agree that Yeo appears to be coaching for his future instead of the Flyers future. Putting myself in his shoes, he owes the Flyers nothing since they have not committed to him next year, so I guess I don't blame him. |

Saros has played 51 of 61 of the Preds games this season. They’re gonna run that guy into the ground before the playoffs even start. |

From the Hockey Writers:
Flyers’ scribe Anthony SanFilippo writes, “The Flyers were considering offers from four teams – Florida, Colorado, Boston, and the New York Rangers. It is believed that Giroux nixed offers to New York and Boston.”
Ducks Holding Out Lindholm
Lindholm is also sitting ahead of a potential deal and TSN’s Darren Dreger reports, “A few teams continue to digest a steep asking price for Hampus Lindholm.” He adds, “There’s always wiggle room, but the current ask is a 1st, a 3rd, and a top prospect. Likely some spin-off from the Chiarot trade to Florida.”
I found this excerpt interesting for two reasons. First it seems G is making it clear he wants to play for a team with a strong chance to win it all, and it appears in G's mind Boston and NY Rangers do not qualify. Or it can be the historical rivalries between these franchises and the Flyers. The second reason is its clear the price for Chiarot has altered what teams are asking for their top players, and this would include what the Flyers are asking for G. Florida might have just hurt themselves by giving up what they did for Chiarot. |

11th in GAA. I was talking about actual goals where there are 8 teams better not 6. Let’s use yours. Nashville is in the top third in the league in goals against. They do it with good goaltending and good defense. |

I haven't watched them play a lot. But when I have. They've been very leaky defensively.

All I’ve seen in the rumors about G’s trade destination are Colorado and Florida. While those are both contenders, I haven’t seen anything on Carolina, Tampa or Calgary. Seems strange. Read a little bit on some of the underdogs but always nothing serious. I could understand if G wants certain teams, but all those teams should want him. Hear the posturing “we are happy with our team…we have enough already to win.” Except that attitude will lead to Giroux going to the competition. Honestly, I don’t think there is a ton of separation between contenders. If they want G and don’t want him giving a bump to the competition, then they pay up. Get G, get the cup. I know it’s not that simple with injuries and such that aren’t predictable, but G gives any one of them a noticeably better shot at it.

So stats are only valid when they fit your narrative? How does “watching them a few times” NOT translate to you talking out of your ass again? |

To be transparent, Nashville is not a good team defensively. Not a contender for that reason in my opinion. - MJL
Nashville can play some good hockey and they won 7 of their last 10 before coming in, including a big wins over Pitt. They may not be cup contenders by any means but they are a good hockey team. Better than a lot of teams that we have lost to.
The flyers went to dirty areas last night and played competitive hockey. I wish I saw this type of effort from them earlier in the season against every opponent, good or bad |

Glad G has no interest in NY, WAS or BOS; I hate those (frank)ing franchises!
Just wish they’d complete the trade and announce it already. |

Forgive my ignorance but is this the Flyers clearing contract spots in order to take player(s) back in a Giroux Trade?

Yes, but I also want them to get the best deal possible so I am willing to wait. In one sense, the return can never be enough, but on the other hand, it must be at least good. |

Good goalie play and good D happens. TB for instance. Not mutually exclusive. I looked it up and they’ve given up the 11th fewest shots on goal. It’s safe to say they are the 11th best defensive team in the league. One could argue that after the top 8 all the other team defenses suck. I’ve seen solid defensive play from the Preds when I’ve watched. Last night they laid an egg. We’ll have to just disagree.

Why should you want to know?
Don't you mind about the future?
Don't you try to think ahead?

Think about today instead.
I could give you facts and figures.
Even give you plans and forecasts.
Even tell you where I'm going.

I don't know.
Maybe.
Forester was hurt and this will allow him to get healthy and play minutes in Barrie instead of LH.

There is no doubt that they're a good team. I just don't think they're as good team wise defensively than they need to be. |

I hated it, I hated their coach with that smug look on his face, I hated Lowry, I hated their style of play, I hated everyone jumping on their bandwagon and pulling for them because they were a newer team in the league, and I was glad they lost in the finals.
Other than that the Panthers don't bother me.
