As Chuckie sits and lets the deal percolate to completion ( or not) I looked at Floridas roster.. Anton Lundel was out of the lineup but had an injury a few games ago.
The rumors of Owen Tippet a 2nd and a 3rd absolutely disgust me.
You have to get a roster player with a good ceiling and a lesser prospect and maybe a 2nd rounder...Otherwise your just getting AHL filler and bag of used pucks.
The Panthers may be a good team, but if G goes there, I will never root for any team that encourages throwing plastic rats on the ice. They revived that in the last few years IIRC. I know there is spit/snot and blood on the ice, but it was always like defacing a shrine to throw things on the ice aside from the hat trick. - RajaAmpat
Was your underwear equally balled up on the night that Ed Snider was honored, and everyone threw their light up bracelets on the ice? |

Dude they got the equivalent of two AHL players and two seconds when you consider where Tampa will finish over the next two years. - Sinisalo4vr
True. 2 32nd picks are indeed high 2nd rounders. Maybe it’s my Flyers Fan PTSD that has me expecting the worse. I’m trying not to get too worked up over something that hasn’t happened yet but it’s hard. Nothing is easy being a Flyers fan. |

What a honor for the Flyers to be the team where Keith Yandle gets to 1,000 games in a row while being worst in the league in plus minus.
Having him soaking up PP minutes that could instead go to players who might actually be on the roster next season shows that the Flyers care more about not offending veteran stiffs than they do about developing their team going forward. - Feanor
It shows how little the Flyers’ brass paid attention to Yandle last season. The year started with a poopstorm over Q wanting to scratch him. Q dealt with it all year as Yandle continued to struggle (sometimes painfully) outside of PP time. Q kept him in when playoffs started at home, but for road games where he couldn’t control the matchups with last change, Yandle was scratched. I was wondering why any team would willingly sign up for the iron man circus, even at a huge discounted rate. |

So if Q wanted to scratch him, why didn’t he?

It’s very accurate. There are about 8 teams who are legitimate Cup contenders. Nashville is just outside that group. Nashville is better defensively than some of those
teams. The reason they are not contenders is because those other teams are better overall. - Minnyhock
You may not agree with my opinion and that's fine. But you're wrong in your description of how my opinion was formed. It was an asinine thing to say. As I stated my opinion was formed by watching them play and not just by the recent game against the Flyers. If that's the way you want the conversations to go, then that's how they'll go. Anything can happen in the NHL playoffs but in my opinion, Nashville has to tighten up and not rely so much on Saros.

He can’t be the victim. He makes almost 7 mill. Part of his job is to make others better. He does not do that.
He owns this mess as much as anyone.
The guy just has 0 confidence out there. Used to be a very good dman. Now he is kinda just slightly above avg w high salary n term. - Joe Nardone
His salary has nothing to do with it. I disagree that part of his job is to make other players better. So he has zero confidence and used to be a very good defenseman. So what happened? What was the cause of that. Dig a little deeper and think.

Provorov-Ellis
Sanheim-Ristolainen
York-Barron
Fletch will screw it up and trade one of Provy and Sanheim for a forward and Seeler will be in the lineup.

SCOUTING REPORT on Tippett
The big scorer in junior hockey is working to translate those skills to the NHL. He has a hard, heavy and accurate shot, and the mentality of a sniper. He will shoot from almost anywhere and needs to improve his passing skills to keep opponents honest. He also needs to work on his play in the defensive zone and away from the puck to maximize his overall value.
Long Range Potential: Talented goal-scoring winger. |

It’s asinine for you to characterize my opinion as that when you admitted that you haven’t watched the Preds much. You using that word is purposely inflammatory and indicative of how you want the conversation to go. Don’t project. Stick to the facts and lose the childish name calling. Bad look dude.

This is what we are looking at going into next season:
Lindblom - Couturier - Farabee
Laughton - Hayes - Atkinson
JVR - Frost - Konecny
? - Brown - ?
Provorov - Ellis
Sanheim - Ristolainen
York - ?
Hart
?
Looking at that roster I can see Konecny and JVR being on their way out especially if we get Tippett. |

I think TK is definitely gone. I was thinking Sanheim was going too, but maybe that has changed to Provorov. Just my feeling, no evidence.
EDIT: Also not sold Frost is a Flyer next year. Put Lacynski on that 4th line. I wouldn't pay anyone extra picks to take JVR, just ride out the year.
Guys you can't count on in your lineup next year: Ellis, Allison. |
