It was always going to be sell, it was just a matter of who was going to be sold. - manvanfan
Why do you laugh after everything you type? Are you high all the time? As for your comment, you’re probably right, but they gave us a glimmer of hope for three months didn’t they. |

Petey is an untouchable. Either Bo or Miller must go to make cap space for a right handed center who isn't poop on the PK. - manvanfan

Have you watched the past four games? It’s a fluid situation. The Canucks have shown who they really are. Changes are needed and this is quite obvious now, it’s go-time. - LeftCoaster
Just riding you a bit, but I doubt anyone knows who or what this team really is, other than soft, terrible defensively and inconsistent.
They have 2 players on the team, that idiots like yourself, think they are absolutely fantastic. One of them is a defenseman that is absolutely clueless when it comes to actually defending, the other is as skinny as a rake and can't stay on his feet and is a bit injury prone due to how frail he is.
Neither are players you should build around as both are PP specialists, one is passable as a 1st line LW or 3LC, the other is a #5 defenseman.

I'm a joyful guy who isn't super serious about everything all the time. I like to display that I'm not utterly distraught all the time about the team whether they win or lose.
They have played well under a better coach, team still has holes that need to be fixed. A right shot center, at least one. A left sided PK defensemen that isn't afraid to block shots.
Blocks
Myers 125
Poolman 73
Schenn 70
OEL 56
Hughes 44
Hunt 37
Hits are pretty much the same way also. |

Why? - Marwood
Because he’s young having just turned 23, he’s talented, and, you can’t sell off everything. But if you get the right price everything should be available. What’s the “right price” though…that’s the question. |

No one on that team, and I mean NO ONE should be labelled untouchable. Saying that makes you look as smart as Lord H and he is rock stupid. |

Everything should be on sale, the Ducks have now traded Manson, Lindblom and Deslauriers….that’s three trades with a Rackell trade coming soon. So most likely four. Canucks need to get five.
Get on it Allvin!!! - LeftCoaster
Read a tweet the other day that a few years ago LA was selling at the TDL (Van buying Toff), and now the Kings are in a better position/have retooled quickly and could be buying from Van.

Again, I don’t think you “build around” Pettersson and Hughes, they’re just simply good YOUNG players who add value to any team. Now, the rest of the team needs a total makeover though. That being said, if you can sell them you’re going full-blown rebuild…Aquilini won’t allow that. |

Benning built team. - Marwood
I can't believe he left the organization the same as he got it, cap-strapped, withdifficult to move players and SFA for prospects in the pool.
Now I will wait for comments about Linus Karlson, Jasek, Persson and the bottom rounder college kids. |

True…however, they are way down the list of players that need to go. The whole organization seemingly has had an issue building a winning culture for years for some reason. |

The Canucks never seem to get it right because they have poor ownership and poor management. Until that changes we can expect them to never win anything. The new management team has a chance to change my mind about that, but I’m not holding my breath waiting to see what happens. |

Benning was by far the worst, period, General Manager the Canucks have ever had. |

The only players you really build around are generational talented players.
Unfortunately they don't come around all often and only 1 team gets that player. |

Generally yes, but they don’t always have to be generational. The Avs don’t have any generational talent but they’ve built that team around MacKinnon, again who’s not a generational talent, but it’s taken them awhile to get good pieces in place.
Of the top three teams in the league right now, Colorado, Florida & Carolina, none of them have generational talent. They’ve just built good teams over time. Something you can’t do if you’re not patient (Aquilini/Benning). |

I’ve never said that, in fact I’ve said he wasn’t allowed to rebuild. I said he did a good job acquiring young talent through the draft from less than stellar draft positions.
Again it boils down to no patience from upper management, Dave Scott wouldn’t allow a rebuild, he was and is of the mantra that the fans of Philadelphia deserve a competitive team so he would only allow a re-tool and why he wanted to foolishly spend money on players like JVR and Kevin Hayes. |

Carolina being Carolina. New Detroit. Just does things differently.
Mackinnon and Barkov are into season 9. Landeskog and Huberdeau are into season 11 and 10.
Those are pretty much their teams best two players maybe Kadri taken over for Landeskog this season. He is in his 13th season.
Crosby won 1 cup at 21 and then again at 28 and 29.
Kopitar and Doughty have only made the playoffs 6 times. Well into their 30s now.
Kane and Toews outliers won cups young. Done nothing since. |
