So 3 contracts out and only one in! That’s a good thing too. The more I think about this the more this trade makes sense. Not angry. All that matters is what the team looks like on opening night 2022. This is an acceptable first step.

You really want the team to stink for another decade? Are you drunk?
- Phillywhiteout

If it takes a decade to do it right then it takes a decade. Time to blow it up. Nobody is untouchable. You might be fine with mediocrity but I’m not. I want to see this team win Cups.

He has made the NHL. He played for the Panthers for a bit. Was sent back down. Needs to adapt his shot to the NHL. He doesnt get the time and space to shoot like he is used to.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx
That's exactly my point. He's an AHL sniper. The NHL isn't going to slow down for him.

Oh god. We’re cornering the market on gingers again.

Joking aside. I would have preferred baron from colorado

- Hextall271

Of course. We all would. But you have no leverage as a GM when you’re working with one team.

Contract flexibility? Fletcher may not be done. No doubt though that he is going to make moves in the off season or around the draft. The Flyers are in the worst position a team can be in overall.

Why does getting rid of a couple of minor leaguers do anything for the Flyers contract flexibility?

Of course everyone wants to see them win Cups. Let's just say that you're much more patient than I am. They've already sucked for 10 years.

All the people that were tired of waiting during the Hextall years are still waiting. Only now the team is in worst position and taking a worse approach.

I see some non-flyer fans saying Tippett was a lacklustre return for G. That means they have seen a ton of Panthers games or just jerking flyer fans chain ⛓️

Guessing everybody knows this by now...

Flyers receive: 2024 1st, 2023 3rd, Owen Tippett.

Panthers receive: Claude Giroux, (50% retained), Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov, 5th round pick.

Pardon my ignorance…opens up space this season? For what? Are they signed beyond this year?

Well they are probably the favorite to win the cup, them or Colorado, so it’s a better pick then than now

Did the flyers retain any $?

They should be looking to take on some cap dumps if it improves any other deals they may have or be a 3rd party helper. Nothing long term mind you.

Hextall was not a very good GM. Sorry to break the news to you. He made very few trades and his drafting left lots to be desired. Also sounds like he divided lots of folks in the Flyers organization with his heavy handed management approach.

Well unfortunately people are stupid so. Be mad about everything else, don’t be mad about the only thing the GM got an adequate return for under the circumstances.
- ClaudeFather
He traded more to Florida then he got in return. It’s a pathetic trade.

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't agree with it. Hextall was taking the correct approach. The same approach the team should be taking now. As far as the divided part. Hextall closed out those who needed to be closed out. More evidence of that was given during Clarke's appearance on TV recently,
