He traded more to Florida then he got in return. It’s a pathetic trade. - Flyers1218
It's really not. Fletcher had a player with a NMC and was dealing with one team.

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't agree with it. Hextall was taking the correct approach. The same approach the team should be taking now. As far as the divided part. Hextall closed out those who needed to be closed out. More evidence of that was given during Clarke's appearance on TV recently, - MJL
The Saint was in total control. The Saint failed. Let it go Cliff. Let it go.

He dumped a few Hextall draft picks that sucked. Big whoop!

I get the point of clearing contracts. I get being hampered by G only wanting Florida.
But the trade should have only been G for Tippet, the third, and the first. No money retained, even if it’s just for the rest of this season.
Instead they traded a former 1st round pick who has struggled like Tippet and another player and a pick.
Are you kidding me? That’s horrible. The best part of the return is years away and the key player we got back can’t stay in the NHL. |

Of course everyone wants to see them win Cups. Let's just say that you're much more patient than I am. They've already sucked for 10 years. - Phillywhiteout
Being impatient will get you 10 more years of short playoff runs and on the fringe misses. No thanks. I’m ready for the pain of a proper rebuild. |

A buddy of mine is a huge Panther fan, has a box for every game. I told him a few days ago Tipett wasn’t that good, he actually said he is going to be a good player.
He always invites me to games but I prefer to watch Flyers from home, I will be going to more panther games, pulling for G in the playoffs. |

Then don’t add to the deal. Giroux for this and that’s it. You want to win a Cup for you 5000 person fanbase or lose to Tampa again? |

If someone waives a player and another team picks him up. Is the waiving team pathetic? |

Over 17000 on last Panther home game. |

Bunnaman was signed for next year. |

Oh, excuse me, I forgot what a great fanbase the Florida Panthers have always had. |

He couldn’t stay in the NHL on Florida’s roster, in Philly he’ll be on the second line. |

That will always diminish the return in a trade greatly when there is only one suitor. |

The 2 players the Flyers traded had no real place on the team going forward, why not give those guys a fresh start and pick up some picks |

Couldn't agree more in regards to telling Florida to piss off. Either meet our asking price or we don't trade him.
I miss the days when a Flyers GM, and frankly the entire organization, had a set of balls. |

Giroux (50%) + Ghost + Voracek + Rubstov + Hagg + 1st + 2nd + 2nd + 5th
For Owen Tippett + Ristolainen + Atkinson + 1st + 3rd
the first will be 10-18 spots lower |

Yea that made it easy for the Panthers, knowing G only would accept going to the Panthers. No competitive offers to drive a decent return up. |
