Hockey has been getting more and more popular down here, before the Panthers started winning. I think all the transplants from the NE, had kids and those kids are hometown fans now. Rinks are opening up and all the rinks are packed with leagues.

Good for them. The sure show up in droves now.

I don't see him coming back. I don't think he'll want to come back and I don't think the Flyers are going to want him back. Both have moved on. The Giroux era is over.
- MJL

No one knows for sure what was said between the two parties when discussing a trade and the future. I am just saying , I would be open for a return at a reasonable price . If he loves the team and city as much as portrayed , he could very well return.

Who is the guy we want drafted this year? Just took a look. Seems like the first 5-7 guys are going to be good players.

Savioe but don’t be shocked if Chuck tries to move up for Cooley

What makes you think I'm happy about this?
- MJL

You sure seem thrilled with our 2024 first round pick. We will be in year 13 of mediocrity, drafting 14th and 27th. Stupendous.

Where did he say he wanted out? Where did he give any indication that he no longer wanted to be a Flyer? Where were his words saying that? You’re always Mr. Literal. If I wanted out and wanted to be on the East Coast I’m not saying no to Boston, the Rangers, etc.

Giroux is not a player that would make that known publicly. He didn't re-sign with the team. I can't tell you everything that Giroux was thinking. More will come out in the next day or two and we'll know more. Right now, my read is that Giroux waived to go to Florida and that's who the Flyers had to negotiate with.

Attendance was an issue for sure but even the Flyers will struggle with attendance when losing of the regular

Hnic in liked the deal for Philly. Yep I’m going w their opinion over yours - sorry.

I rip fletcher every chance I get, but he did a decent job here. Nothing wrong w Tippet. He will be a middle six winger at worst who gets you 25 and will score on the pp. He prob already has as good a shot as almost anyone in our org. He can bring offense, but loves himself. So what. Good trade.

- Joe Nardone

What are you smoking 🚬 Tippett only have 6 goals in 42 games. On one of the highest-scoring teams all-time.

Stating that the return is what was expected does not signify that I'm thrilled. That is your misread. Flyers are likely going to be drafting top 5 in the next draft.

Well, HNIC liked it...we should start planning the parade then.

Tippett is supposed to be a goal scorer and has 14 goals in 94 NHL games and couldn't stick with the team that drafted him 10th overall five years ago. I'd say there's something wrong there.

The bottom line is Giroux is a rental. An icon here but a middle 6 player on a playoff team no more. Flyers got a 1st and a prospect with a possible middle 6 future

Why should he?
- Just5

Lol exactly. People are calling him selfish, can’t make it up . His contract had a clause where he controlled his destination. And guess what, he did. A surprise to many on this site, somehow.

No one will ever question Flyers fans loyalty. Ever. Florida freakin Panthers fans? Give me a break.

Oh well, this team isn’t getting better until it’s sold and they find someone with a brain to run it.

We don't know where he'll be in the lineup. Giroux is still capable of being a 1st line forward on a good team.

He will most likely be on the first line. That’s where it makes sense to bump down looking at their wingers.

bunnamen and rubstov were just player dumps
so really i just view the trade as

Claude Giroux and 2024 5th for Tippett, 2024 1st, and a third-round choice in 2023

hell maybe florida will fall apart in 2 years
