I’ve noted before that Yandle is playing scared and you can see the lack of confidence nearly every time he touches the puck. By all accounts he is a great guy but this charade needs to stop.
- Sinisalo4vr

It’s not even playing scared. The game has past him, he looks so odd out there because if he doesn’t approach the game this way he has no chance of keeping up. He can’t engage because he will be left in the dust after a board battle.

Maybe he is another one of the masses of Flyers with a core injury hes playing through.....NOT ( sarcasm alert) Well, in truth hes playing like he has one, or should he be playing in the over 50 Oldetimers groups...of all the defensemen who were whipping boys here he deserves the most flagellation

IMO, the minor deals could have been made already, (Jones, Braun, and maybe Brassard). Their value is what it is, not going up at this point. Given Fletch’s past, I don’t think he’ll be able to move a handful of players come Monday. Would rather him use Sun & Mon for moves that might actually, hopefully move the needle. 🤞

That’s just not how it works tho. You’re starting to see the trades trickle in, it will ramp up this weekend.

Let’s hope he is not left holding the bag on Monday at 3:00pm.

Unless Ek copied that from a twitter post from a legit insider, nothing to see there.

Again... no one on Frost's line (Frost certainly included) had a good game last night. If you didn't notice the dramatic difference between Frost at LW with Giroux/TK and Frost centering Mayhew and Willman, I don't know what to tell you.
- bmeltzer

So in order for him to skate hard and play hard he needs to be with 2 players much better then him....sounds encouraging

Like you said, the market for the brassards and Braun’s is pretty evident. Those shouldn’t be hard trades to make. Curious to see what comes of this G trade though. I knew it wouldn’t be a long list but it’s a bit shorter than I thought from these reports.

If it’s serious can’t see them going for a forward.
- Angus4444

Their coach said nothing structural and way better than they thought but will know more today.

Seems like bs. Can’t see why G would be so dead set on FL and nowhere else.

Giroux wont be on the team Monday at 3pm so he wont be holding the bag. The question is the return and those who have been talking about a haul for a long time are going to be disappointed.

Very good team..sun and warm weather..no taxes...play on top line..great golf courses....need any other reasons. On top of that bet there is some bitterness as he have said often he never thought it would come to this. Think he expected to be a Flyer for his whole career.

They are the team to beat. It’s a two hour flight from Philly if the family was to go back and forth.

Apparently because he gets to play on Barkov's wing on the top line.

Having said that, I personally don't believe anything Ek says nowadays, so ...

Why was Simon Gagne in 2010 so dead set on Tampa and nowhere else? That was part of the reason why the Flyers were unable to make a Gagne for Tim Thomas trade with Boston that was offered by the Bruins (it's in Flyers at 50). Ended up with an injured Matt Walker instead.

There is no way in hell Yandle will be back next and I feel the same way about JVR although who knows about that turd. If Yandle is on this team next year I will turn in my Flyer's fan card from 1975. JVR needs to be removed. It actually cracked me up when he scored the goal the other night. Everyone else doing the grunt work while he stands there and the puck ends up on his stick. I've never seen a player that makes 7 million a year at an occupation care less. He has to go!! Frost has borderline NHL player written all over him. I'm sorry folks, but I call em like I see em. If he was an 18 or 19 year old kid I'd say fine, but he is in his 5th year of professional hockey. Not especially fast and way too weak on the puck. Thanks!
- Phillywhiteout

Frost can fly... so "not especially fast" is incorrect. It's a matter of using the speed he's blessed with.

Also not a 5th year pro. He's a 3rd year pro who basically lost his entire 2nd year to injury.

I would have more respect for Fletcher if he held on to Giroux for the season then trade him away for "just something". The team trading for players are the ones getting the most benefit, so there is no need to help them out just so the team gets "at least something is better than nothing" bs.

Giroux holds all the cards in the offseason. He can pick his destination and how much he wants, but right now Fletcher has to do what is best for the Flyers without helping other teams because he is suppose to.

I'm saying what I said: Gagne didn't owe the Flyers anything in terms of waiving and going to Boston or elsewhere when he was set on Tampa. Mats Sundin didn't owe the Leafs anything. John Tavares didn't owe the Islanders anything when they held him til he was a UFA.

Giroux has the same right, if that's in fact how he views this.

You're 100% correct, but on the other hand the Flyers also don't owe it to Giroux to trade him to a team that has a chance to win the cup.

Guess I was going by his draft year as far as thinking he was a fifth year pro. I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the speed thing though. If you are blessed with speed isn't it a natural instinct to use it? I mean, that sounds like a RB in football that is blessed with speed, but doesn't use it. I've never really heard of that being a problem for a gifted athlete.
