now that we're content with the return lets focus on the next trade that needs to be made
Braun - 2Real
Be thrilled if they could find a way to get 2nd in this years draft. |

The Bruins just emptied the tank for Lindholm because it has been reported they are working on an extension with him. Lindholm obviously is willing to sign with Boston. Based on the return the Flyers got it appears G was not willing to work on an extension with any team he was willing to be traded to. Furthermore based on the comments G made this past week, I believe G wanted to stay here and will resign here next season. I read something recently that teams were weary of giving up too much for G because they felt he was going back to Philly also. That's what I read from so this today. |

What did they see in German Rubtsov? 🚨 - THE EVIL WITHIN
Good on him if he turns it around. I just haven’t seen enough out of him to say he is NHL so no idea.

Hang on. I’m not saying Giroux is coming back but what exactly was Shane Doan being offered the Arizona? Sometimes moving just sucks. I don’t know where G’s wife is from but if she’s a Philly girl, why wouldn’t they move back? I was surprised to hear John LeClair stayed local along time before being cut loose. - SuperSchennBros
Gs wife is Canadian.
And Shane Doan never got traded.
It's extremely rare for dudes to get traded and then immediately resign. Jackets fans were so sure it would happen to soul.of the franchise Foligno. Where's he now? |

there is a reason why teams like anaheim and chicago have won the cup recently and the flyers struggle |

Ok, you missed the point. Shane Doan had every opportunity to move on from a franchise that had zero competitive nature. What I’m saying is, it’s not always about the franchise. Some people just want to stay put. Moving for a hockey player is no different from any other human being. |

The difference in the deals is due to the NMC. Lindholm is 28. Giroux is 34. Giroux returning to the Flyers is highly unlikely
Think about it. What are the Flyers likely to do? What are they on record as wanting to do? They want to "get right back in it" Does bringing back Giroux do that? The Flyers are going to chase top players with whatever cap space they can create. That will be their priority. Why would Giroux sign a cheap team friendly deal to come back here with the limited cap space they might have left?
I know you won't listen to this just like you wouldn't listen when you were told that the Flyers weren't getting Newhook or Lundell for Giroux.
Giroux has a NMC and just used it completely control what happened. Yet you still think he wanted to stay here. |

You heard that right from Clarke? Speaks for the organization.
Can you tell me how York has earned PP time but Sanheim hasn't? - MJL
I don't know why Sanheim is not playing on the PP to be honest. Clarke stated that in juniors Sanheim played PP and clearly the second half of the season Sanheim is playing much better offensively. He seems like the perfect player to try on one of the worst PPs in the league, right? Risto looks good on the PP so why not try Sanheim also, he can't be more of a train wreck the Yandle is. |

But G wanted to leave. He wanted to go the Florida.
Doan passed on every single trade opportunity that came along. |

Doesn't make any sense and a really bad and poorly thought out analogy. - MJL
It makes perfect sense and it's exactly what happened here. Florida got a proven NHL player and the Flyers got a maybe and a lottery ticket, neither of which will drastically change the team's fortunes in all likelihood. So if that was the return it really doesn't matter if they traded him or not. You can fool yourself into thinking that getting something back for him is better than nothing, just like getting Ryan Hartman was better than nothing for Wayne Simmonds, or getting Ryan Parent and Scott Upshall was better than getting nothing for Peter Forsberg. Did either of those deals ultimately matter? Nope.
I've been an apologist for this team for 44 years and I used to think exactly like you. I finally saw the light this season...I hope you get there too. Good luck to you. |

no I'm listening. First I stated IF G was willing to sign an extension the Flyers should ask for Newhook or Lundell, never did I think they would get those players for just a rental. I don't want G back and I would hope the Flyers would not want him back but between what I heard from G and reading from both sides, I think G might be back. Just a guy feeling on my part. |

You didn't answer the question. Clarke just provided more evidence of the existence of the country club.

No, you repeatedly stated that the Flyers would get one of those players in return and you did not make it conditional on re-signing. Giroux was always going to be a rental.
You have a gut feeling. Never mind that Giroux just used his NMC to control what happened. Yet you think he didn't want to leave. Can't make it up.
Tell me, using common sense. What does a player who doesn't want to leave where he is that has a NMC do? |

I don’t think Ray Bouque wanted to leave Boston. I don’t think Jerome Iginla wanted to leave Calgary. I don’t think multiple players wanted leave their situation. I think Bouque for example got old and took his last shot at a cup. I don’t view differently. Sometimes a trade is what’s good for the team as well as the player and the team talks the player into it. |

let's be civil, I'm agreeing with you, I think York has earned PP time and it's clear the Flyers are trying to develop him. I think Sanheim should be given a shot also and I don't understand why it has not happened already. Clarke seemed to think that also but I thought it was weird that he stated Sanheim needed to earn it. |

I am being civil. How has York earned PP time?
Clarke just revealed more of the rot and stink that permeates through this entire organization. |

But Tippett isn’t a maybe. He’ll be an NHLer for awhile. A better skating Hornqvist.
