6.5 to 5.1.....wow what a joke that RR looks like already. - hello it's me 2050
I think Risto has been playing awfully well of late, hitting, blocking shots and getting more involved in the offense. Don't get me wrong I would have rather had Lindholm but that would mean trading Provorov and when you compare the two how much better is Lindholm in reality? Risto and Sanheim iif they stay together look to be a very good 2nd pairing. The problem IMO with the Flyers defense is almost entirely the forwards and Yandle when he is on the ice.
If G truly wanted to win a cup and he truly cared about the Flyers, he would have at least put 2 or 3 teams on his list, as was originally reported, But to only choose one team and tie the hands of Fletcher in the process, well that does not come across to me as a player that truly wants to leave. It was almost like the Flyers were begging him to waive his NMC and finally he gave in slightly. No other player in his situation as far as I know has ever only wanted to go to one team and one team only. Tell me, what is the difference between Florida and Colorado when it really comes down to it? G will be away from home just about all the time regardless. I'm telling you G's first choice this off season is to resign with the Flyers, and if I'm Fletcher I tell him to go pound sand and thanks for nothing! - jd250
Stop with the BS if he cared about the flyers. CC has 1 priority. Himself. Clearly in his mind Florida gives him the best chance to win. You may disagree but doesn't matter. You also do not know if they allowed him or his agent to talk to any teams about his role/place on said team going forward.
All your doing is trying to deflect from your boy Chuck.
It comes across as a player who held all the cards. Gagne only wanted Tampa.

did Boston give up anything close to to Ivan? you said yourself they gave up nothing.
It is not a very good 2nd pairing. RR is dumb as a fn stump. Just amazes me watching him majority of the time. 5.1 could have easily been spent elsewhere. RR does not help a team win. He knows nothing but losing. So I can see why he wanted to stay.
I agree and posted several times Tippet should not be the centerpiece of any deal, but given the circumstances its amazing Fletcher got anything at all. Maybe the Flyers get lucky and Tippet lives up to what many say he is capable of, but I agree its most likely he will be nothing more than just another middle of the lineup forward. That is why I posted this is another missed opportunity, but its 100% Giroux's fault, not Fletchers! - jd250
The fact that you give Chuck any credit for a deal that any intern could have made is mind boggling. It really is.
Again stop with the it is CC's fault. It is the organizations fault for giving hi a NMC. When did it fall on the traded player to "help" out the organization that wants him gone? That's a crock of schitt
One thing I didn't know until late yesterday was that G only wanted to play for Florida, in other words there was no list of teams and no bidding. I know some here were saying this but I didn't know why. Thus when the trade went down I was really angry at Fletcher, was he really the joke many said he was? But after learning this I think Fletcher did an outstanding job even to get what he got back, and he must have had to use a lot of his political capital to even be able to do it. Not many GMs in this situation get back a top prospect and 1st round pick, and I'm sure Fletcher's relationship with the Panther's front office came nto play here. You all can be down on Fletcher if you want but this trade along with signing Risto for less money than he was making, while many of you stated Risto was getting a big raise, should indicate Fletcher is a lot more competent than many of you give him credit for. Fletcher now needs to get what he can for the other expiring contracts and try to make the most of this deadline. - jd250
I bet the people around you thank God for the internet, so that you can tell people how you think your right in online forum posts rather than them having to listen to you tell them how right you think you are. Because you telling people how right you think you are is the theme of every post I have read of yours. - Shrike

You were told that numerous times yesterday. You wouldn't listen. Outstanding is a big stretch.
There is no level of competence that can be assigned to Fletcher for re-signing Ristolainen. That was done due to his ass is on the line and he is desperate.
If you want to blame anyone for this trade, it's 100% on Giroux. It should be very clear now G didn't want to be traded and didn't care about going for a Stanley Cup. He is truly "Captain Comfortable" so I say good riddance! I believe even more now that G's choice this offseason is to resign with the Flyers but I sincerely hope Fletcher moves on. Giroux got his 1000th game and celebration, now he can go sign with an easy team like Ottawa and finish out his career. This was a missed opportunity again for the Flyers and it's 100% Giroux's fault! - jd250
This is one of the more absurd posts you've made and that is saying something.
What don't you get about a NMC. Giroux had all the power. If he didn't want to be traded, he wouldn't have been. This is not difficult.

Giroux chose to leave so he was traded.
Giroux wanted to stay on the east coast. Why is this so difficult for you?
Do some research to find out if players only wanted to play for one team. See what you find.

The first round pick was the centerpiece of the deal.
Not so sure about that. It’s a horrible season and then an underwhelming return for a player of this caliber, I’m sure Chuckie and Bobby have a lot of things to be defensive about. - iamscore2day
I was referring to ASF. The guy that reported Risto turned down a 6 x 6.25 from the Flyers. The boy on the show asked him if wanted to roll back on his statement on that and ASF doubled down on it. He doesn't bother to fact check alot of his statements.
Did he tell you this? If what ASF said is true he wants/wanted to come back. - hello it's me 2050
I have no idea whether he wants to comeback or not. If after playing with Florida, he decides to comeback, I may question his desire to win. This team can probably quickly get back to be a bubble playoff team, but I don't see them becoming a contender soon. Chuck may prove me wrong...... but I doubt it.

Tippet joins the ever growing stable of bottom 6 forwards that the team has meticulously built over the last 8 years. He should be able to play and give you those bottom line minutes, not as bad as the situation could have been.
Let’s keep the ball rolling and move Braun, Jones & Brassard now. We’re going to end up with a top 5 pick. No reason we can’t move back up into the late 1st with our 2nd if we get picks for these guys. This will be one of the more exciting off-seasons for sure. - hereticpride
That would be nice if fletch didnt give it away to Az for them to take Ghost
In Florida's system tippet was ranked pretty high, just below Spencer Knight and Lundell. Given what Fletcher had to work with, I don't think he could have done any better. - jd250
Oh great! Another guy that doesn't hit anybody. Probably afraid to go to the net too. Yet another forward that plays on the perimeter. This team already has a shyte ton of those type of forwards. Yippee!!

Really simple
1. He stayed and you get nada maybe a pick at the draft
2. You resign him
2. He gets to go where he wants and you take what you get
Love him or hate him CF did as well as he could with what he was working with, let’s hope he does well going into next season. There is a way to build this team but not if he thinks he can do it for next season.

Here's Owen Tippett being physical.
& here he is either crashing the net or just being a one man snipe show.

Didn’t realize it could potentially be a 2025 first round pick, though I don’t see the panthers nosing diving so quickly:
The Flyers will receive Florida's first-round 2024 selection, unless the pick falls within the top 10. In that condition, Philadelphia will receive Florida’s 2025 first-round selection.

He was never given an opportunity to succeed in Florida. Yo-yoed up and down from minors. Shuffled around the lineup in the NHL. Now that he’s in a better situation with the Flyers he’ll flourish. 👍

I agree because the Flyers never do that to a player.

I wonder where this leaves Wade Allison. No I’m not talking about the fact both Allison and Tippett both have long red hair. Both are right wingers and play a power forward styles. If Tippett is less injury prone with a higher upside, Allison may not have a shot in Philly. Atkinson and Konency already hold a spot in the top six. I’m sure Allison can replace MacEwan but Allison is just not healthy.
