I do not care what they say. Lets look at today. He is 23 years old. 5 years removed from his draft year. In and out of the lineup.
If he was a flyers prospect and they traded him you would say he was a bust or something similar.
Let him come here and see what he can do. He has a real opportunity. Assuming Yeo the dope doesn't insert him om the 4th line. - hello it's me 2050
You could look at this at Rubtsov and Bunnaman for Tippet and Claude for a 1 and a 3. Just not a great haul IMO. Looks like Chucky/Bobby are ridding themselves of Ronnie’s picks. That would make you happy. Hope last night’s remarks by Bobby finally make it clear to you that he is much more than a golfer to this team.

I don’t know why anyone would suggest Bob Clarke isn’t paying attention to transactions as a member of this organization for decades and as a former GM.

I do not look at it like that all as German and Bunny both blow. Florida would not make that trade at all that you suggest imo. Addition by subtraction. They needed the contract slots to sign other players who may have a future with the flyers. They are ridding themselves of his picks because his picks well just are not good enough. What pick did "they" rid themselves of that looks like a mistake?
The "haul" is what it is and there was nothing going to alter that "haul" as it is clear 100% CC wanted to go to Florida.
Did Clarke sleep with your mom and cause a divorce or something?
Fletcher has:
Overpaid for a garbage player in Hayes
Gave up way to much for Risto
Compounded the previous point by re-signing Risto
Gave up a 2nd round pick to get rid of an effective player: Ghost
Brought in Yandle & Thompson
And, perhaps worst of all,
Traded G+ for a mediocre package. Even worse, it seems more and more apparent that Giroux, still one of the team’s top 2 players, would rather have re-signed and finished his career as a Flyer. So therefore, no trade needed to be made.
There is no defending Cuck Fletcher. He is an incompetent toady. The entire organization has become garbage, it’s truly heartbreaking.

CC had to go. It was long overdue to turn the page. Not sure why peeps cant see this. Now the team can move forward. Again has nothing to do with his production as he is till a real good player.
Everything else is on point; except Ghost. He wasn't effective here.
If you want to blame anyone for this trade, it's 100% on Giroux. It should be very clear now G didn't want to be traded and didn't care about going for a Stanley Cup. He is truly "Captain Comfortable" so I say good riddance! I believe even more now that G's choice this offseason is to resign with the Flyers but I sincerely hope Fletcher moves on. Giroux got his 1000th game and celebration, now he can go sign with an easy team like Ottawa and finish out his career. This was a missed opportunity again for the Flyers and it's 100% Giroux's fault! - jd250

I guess reality is something you don’t like. I was a big fan of the player and a less enthusiastic fan of him as GM during his initial term because of his temperament. I see no positive input from him now and his hiring and working with Chucky is setting the team back. His ripping of current and future prospects is a humiliation for a franchise that used to have some reason to be proud of how it handled itself and its players. So much for the Flyers “family “.

Seems Panthers have their group locked up, no draft picks left but they are young and have term on most of the right players. Maybe they move Hornquist, but I don’t see it being easy if they want to resign G, if not, it makes is wide open for G after the season - wcorvette
I don’t think FL could re-sign G. At age 34, they probably won’t even want to.

Really simple
1. He stayed and you get nada maybe a pick at the draft
2. You resign him
2. He gets to go where he wants and you take what you get
Love him or hate him CF did as well as he could with what he was working with, let’s hope he does well going into next season. There is a way to build this team but not if he thinks he can do it for next season. - wcorvette
G wanted Florida…it’s that simple. Not the east coast….just Florida. With a NMC he got to choose. Tippet appears to be a decent young forward that really needed a change of scenery…we’ll see what he can do. The 1rst is simply an asset that he can use to help build this team going forward.
& here he is either crashing the net or just being a one man snipe show.

Tippett looks like he should look pretty good playing with Frost

One thing I didn't know until late yesterday was that G only wanted to play for Florida, in other words there was no list of teams and no bidding. I know some here were saying this but I didn't know why. Thus when the trade went down I was really angry at Fletcher, was he really the joke many said he was? But after learning this I think Fletcher did an outstanding job even to get what he got back, and he must have had to use a lot of his political capital to even be able to do it. Not many GMs in this situation get back a top prospect and 1st round pick, and I'm sure Fletcher's relationship with the Panther's front office came nto play here. You all can be down on Fletcher if you want but this trade along with signing Risto for less money than he was making, while many of you stated Risto was getting a big raise, should indicate Fletcher is a lot more competent than many of you give him credit for. Fletcher now needs to get what he can for the other expiring contracts and try to make the most of this deadline. - jd250
It’s G’s right to make choices that were right for him….that’s why he got his NMC included. I hoped for about what they got, although a 1rst would have been more beneficial if it was not 3 drafts away.

Reality is you smoke the Saints jock.
He ha zero fn say in personal, drafting, development. All you do is want to deflect from the Saints failure as a GM. The GM who was in complete 100% control.
Ripping current and future prospects a big lol. How dare he say the truth about Patrick when asked a question.
What current and future prospects has he ripped on? Can you give some examples please.
The franchise is a humiliation because of the last decade+. Plenty of shared blame to go around. Including first and foremost Saint Ronnie.
I wonder where this leaves Wade Allison. No I’m not talking about the fact both Allison and Tippett both have long red hair. Both are right wingers and play a power forward styles. If Tippett is less injury prone with a higher upside, Allison may not have a shot in Philly. Atkinson and Konency already hold a spot in the top six. I’m sure Allison can replace MacEwan but Allison is just not healthy. - SuperSchennBros
Konecny will be traded. Either Tippett or Allison could also be moved to LW

Heard G wanted assurances he was getting re-signed by Philly after the season. Chuck said no. Claude said fine…only Florida then. Not sure if that is against the CBA or not if they had a gentleman’s agreement. Anyone know?

ASF has reported this, if it is true its the best move Chuck has ever made.
Though ASF seems to have a grudge against the flyers.

Oh great! Another guy that doesn't hit anybody. Probably afraid to go to the net too. Yet another forward that plays on the perimeter. This team already has a shyte ton of those type of forwards. Yippee!! - Phillywhiteout

1) Hayes is not garbage. He has been one of our best players since returning to the lineup. Market value was 6.5 mill for Hayes. Yes he is overpaid but the overpayment is 700k
2) Yandle and Thompson are irrelevant. Both were brought in as bottom tier players and were signed to 1 year deals. Thompson barely played.
3) Flyers got the best offer for Giroux. If he wanted to stay, he would have re-signed. He didnt. You dont waive your NMC if you dont want to be moved.

Hayes is crap, plays like he’s the only player on the ice and he’s likely lost a step that he couldn’t afford to lose. In two years, he will be the league’s highest paid 4C
Yandle and Thompson are not irrelevant; they take away spots that could have been used to develop younger talent. Yandle in particular was a horrible signing as he may just be the worst Dman in the NHL.
No, G did not have to go. I don’t think Fletcher had the slightest interest in re-signing him.
Keep drinking the kool aid, this team will be a lottery team for the foreseeable future.
