CC owes the flyers nothing. If he wants Florida then the Flyers take what they offer or they don't. He is a luxury for that team not a need.
If they have any thoughts about bringing CC back not trading him probably sinks that ship. |

Anyone want Myers back as he's one waivers? - Bayareaflyer
They must have really soured on him. He will get claimed.

It’s 50/50. Chuck can easily say give us something to work with or you go back to Philly for the remainder of the season and deal with the circus that will surely be waiting for you. At 34 there’s no way G’s agent lets it get to that.
It’s a poopty situation all around but I really don’t know what G’s camp expected to happen. It’s a three month rental not a 5 year commitment. Give the Flyers something to work with ffs. - hereticpride
Exactly! People act like Giroux just brought 5 cups to Philly and deserves whatever he asks for. BOTH parties want a trade or it would never of gotten this far. Fletcher wants to trade him to better the club and Giroux wants a trade to win a cup as a Coat-Tail Andy.
Giroux deserves to give the team options because of the NMC they BOTH agreed on, but if he truly only gave the team one option and that one option doesn't work then end of story.
Most of the people complaining for Fletcher to trade Giroux for anything, or more specific a crappy return, are the same people who will be first ones to female dog about the crappy return for the next 5 years. They get what they want then complain about it...sounds about right for a Flyer fan.

Weird....maybe Arizona will pick him up to play with Elite Ghost. |

Giving the Flyers options as it turns out may have also been best for G.
Panthers now know they don’t haven’t to bid against anyone and Chuck is doing his job and not just rolling over for them. It’s a pretty predictable outcome. Like I said, I don’t know what G’s camp was expecting. Chucks got a franchise to turn around here first and foremost before he caters to anyone. |

This is the most tone deaf take I have ever seen. What do you want Jackson to say? He is an employee of Comcast\Flyers. Bad mouthing your company publicly is how you get fired. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Some objectivity wouldn't hurt. As I related in a different post, the Flyers are open about trying to recruit "new" fans as in non-hockey, thereby ostracizing the current fanbase. Also, I'm hard pressed to think anyone but die-hard Flyers fans are actually watching this slop, so, does he really need to preach to the already devoted fanbase?
What's tone deaf is his describing everything in a Flyer-orange coated way as if we're a bunch of mindless morons watching the games. |

Then he can finish the season with the Flyers.
People keep acting like they have to trade him, they DON'T. They want to trade him for the benefit of both sides, but if it only benefits one side then they have no obligation to trade him.

Myers on waivers. I know people love ripping Chucky on here, but if Ellis some how gets healthy and can stay healthy for a few seasons that trade will be an absolute steal! They literally gave up nothing to get Ellis. |

One team is not something to work with. Florida might as well just offer a 7th rounder and say take it or leave it. |

If they have any intentions of bringing him back then they will accommodate him unless they announce an extension in the next day or so.
Is something better than nothing?

Exactly. And clocks ticking for G here. Not the Flyers. If push comes to shove does he really want to come back here and play on this losing squad and field questions about why he didn’t give Chuck options. And most importantly, miss getting into these playoffs with not a lot of years left for him to get that shot. |

He definitely has the ability to hire guys from his Minnesota past. I guess Torchetti is the last example. Minnesota Yeo may be axed 🪓 but I am not sure. |

You must’ve missed the numerous turnovers failure Phil had the other night. |

Because Jackson is doing his job. He has to put a positive spin on things publicly.
