I would say he is a Seidenberg that can do more in the O zone if that makes sense. He is a good pick up ill admit that much.

A depth piece on forward at the very least. Can you imagine what happens if Bergeron took an injury. Cripes.
I am really taken back Don didn’t bring in a guy that can play center or the wing. - Tachmo
We got haula, that should be enough to make a run at the cup right? |

Did really good with Lindholm trade and signing. Brown is a depth big physical dman ok. But he keeps this pig debrusk . Had cap space should have picked up a forward to play with bergy. Some physical edge forward for depth. No he thinks he has something special in his 2015 # 1 pick. In the off season he gets a pick for him. Horrible. |

sometimes the deal you dont make is a good one, they didnt need another 3rd line center, DeBust has no trade value right now. maybe before draft they move him?

Now its just sit back, relax, and enjoy what might be the last few games of Bergy's career. Cheers boys! |

Just a 1st and 2 2nds. Seems like a lot for a team probably on its way down in a year or two. However, resigning him changes things. Then you retain that asset you can trade at a later date. Trading more picks than Jim Benning! - storm88
Couldn't be more incorrect. The Bruins now have a have future with a solid and young top 4, Swayman and Pastrnak. Also seems just about every GM was trying to acquire Lohrei and Lysell. still some long term holes to full but looks far less bleak than a few days ago.

Feels like a desperation move. This Bruins team sacrificed a lot of its future for a decent d-man, but they still aren’t a legit cup threat. - AxlRose91

The price for Rakell was gross.
Garland wasn't moved.
Giroux said no.
Domi sucks.
Who else you got, that you know was truly on the table?
Also DeBrusk is gone this summer. Signing him all but ensured he can be moved and done so with ease. Now a team wont have to qualify him, and worry if he'll leave afterwards making it a bad deal for them.

It will be interesting to see what Patrice does this summer. If he sings a one year deal, ownership might want to trade 2023 first pick and give this core another run.
If he retires, then what do you do with Marchand ? The return could be interesting.
Now the foundations are build around McAvoy, Pastrnak and Swayman.
Woud have been nice to have Barzal at center and Connor on the wing but they chose to go left field and not listen to concensus rankings.

I could see Bergy signing a 2-3 year deal and then wrapping it up.
Marchands "cheap" contract will end there and Bruins can decide which way to go in a rebuild.

That’s my point . He is gone in the summer after being the same disappointment. So you put him on your first line for the upcoming playoffs? Where does he play when he shows he is no first line winger?
I would rather have grabbed the 2nd rounder now and take a shot with Kessel on the first line in the playoffs. Kessel generates offense. He isn’t the same but he still has that skill . I like to see him with Bergy and Brad. He is a great passer and still has a quick shot. Natural right winger. The money would have worked perfectly. Now your stuck with this guy for the playoffs. |

So we agree that neither of us like DeBrusk.
He's played better with 37 and 63 (any NHLer should). Is it possible that could boost his value? I'm going with yes. Because you do not have a better option now what choice do you have?
There is nobody better in the system right now. They're not going to burn year 1 on Lysell or Lohrei and rush them in. Steen, Luako, Studnicka et all are not good enough or ready. One of them would be here if they were.
If you were Phil Kessel would you come back here after everything? I would nix the living (frank) out of that deal 10 times out 10. The organization, the fanbase, and the media kicked him in the ass on the way out. He did nothing to help himself here as well.

The main reason I would want Kessel is to feel better about myself when I have 3 hot dogs and 7 beers at the game. The Kessel hot dog promotions would be legendary. |

I'm gonna hope for this. In my mind I see him going year to year based on how the team is looking. Off season is going to be huge for Sweeney because if he doesnt bolster this roster I can see Bergy just calling it quits. |

Wouldn't be the first time. Krug and McAvoy both came in right before/at the start of the post season. - bluemoon737
Krug was a bit different. I don't believe he was signed to an ELC as he wasn't drafted. Also if you saw McAvoy play in college it was kind of joke. He was miles ahead most guys.

Wow doesn’t the hot dog story ever get old . Toronto newspaper stalwart story still around. Talk about legendary!!
Really Kessel on the wing with those 2 would have been a definitive upgrade. Don’t believe Boston is on his no go list. |

There will be no three-peat. |
