I would say he is a Seidenberg that can do more in the O zone if that makes sense. He is a good pick up ill admit that much.

sometimes the deal you dont make is a good one, they didnt need another 3rd line center, DeBust has no trade value right now. maybe before draft they move him?

Just a 1st and 2 2nds. Seems like a lot for a team probably on its way down in a year or two. However, resigning him changes things. Then you retain that asset you can trade at a later date. Trading more picks than Jim Benning!

Couldn't be more incorrect. The Bruins now have a have future with a solid and young top 4, Swayman and Pastrnak. Also seems just about every GM was trying to acquire Lohrei and Lysell. still some long term holes to full but looks far less bleak than a few days ago.

Feels like a desperation move. This Bruins team sacrificed a lot of its future for a decent d-man, but they still aren’t a legit cup threat.

Also DeBrusk is gone this summer. Signing him all but ensured he can be moved and done so with ease. Now a team wont have to qualify him, and worry if he'll leave afterwards making it a bad deal for them.

It will be interesting to see what Patrice does this summer. If he sings a one year deal, ownership might want to trade 2023 first pick and give this core another run.

If he retires, then what do you do with Marchand ? The return could be interesting.

Now the foundations are build around McAvoy, Pastrnak and Swayman.

Marchands "cheap" contract will end there and Bruins can decide which way to go in a rebuild.

That’s my point . He is gone in the summer after being the same disappointment. So you put him on your first line for the upcoming playoffs? Where does he play when he shows he is no first line winger?
I would rather have grabbed the 2nd rounder now and take a shot with Kessel on the first line in the playoffs. Kessel generates offense. He isn’t the same but he still has that skill . I like to see him with Bergy and Brad. He is a great passer and still has a quick shot. Natural right winger. The money would have worked perfectly. Now your stuck with this guy for the playoffs.

I'm gonna hope for this. In my mind I see him going year to year based on how the team is looking. Off season is going to be huge for Sweeney because if he doesnt bolster this roster I can see Bergy just calling it quits.

Krug was a bit different. I don't believe he was signed to an ELC as he wasn't drafted. Also if you saw McAvoy play in college it was kind of joke. He was miles ahead most guys.
