Canucks get a third for Hamonic, give a third for Dermott. I am not sure Dermott is actually a better player than Hamonic today, but he is younger, with more upside, and most importantly, hits the cap at half price next year. Solid reallocation of D dollars for Vancouver.

Jeez . What do you expect, we just got Dermott. All answers are solved .

Any idea what number he's wearing here? If I leave now I can probably get my Dermott Canucks sweater all lettered up by game time. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I expect full house cleaning.๐Ÿ˜
I have said many times for a few seasons, that I don't like the make up of this team, so I don't care who goes.
So yes, change for change sakes works for me. Get rid of the high-priced help and bring in younger players.

I would get a new set of bricks ready.

I thought the original trade of Hamonic for the third was a move in the right direction for the cap space. I don't give a rats ass about the third because I don't trust this new group yet. Thirds very seldom turn into regular NHL players .

The acquisition was unnecessary waste of cap space. Just more of the same old crap everyone b1tched about for years.

I have mentioned to you before, that I also have some doubts about this group of management, but also have bigger concerns with this group of players.

I understand your dislike . They are under preforming . I still think they have a lot of growing to do ( Petey and Hughes) and you may not see a positive for another two years. I look at Johnny Gaudreau and the problems he had and look at him today.

I think build around them for now and if in two years you still feel the same then move on then. I do get the frustration though .

The Hamonic trade was good. Get rid of 3mil cap space on a 3rd paring who is injury prone and surrounded by controversy. What I don't understand was the need to acquire Dermott who was a 7/8 this season? They didn't need to do this. They gave up a 3rd and half their acquired cap savings for a player who needs to compete with Hunt and Poolman for that 6th spot at best. If more changes come like a RD trade or signing in the summer, he gets pushed even further down potentially... For all the talk on here about acquiring picks, I don't understand the propping up of this minor and pointless trade for Dermott. I think everyone would have been happy with Hamonic and the savings/pick positive without the following negative.

Not sure I like the idea of building a team around a couple of powerplay specialists

You realize that in just about every transactions that are linked to Vancouver, there will be some who like it and others who don't and some that are indifferent.

I have my doubts also . I am hoping they are going to be complimentary players to some better decisions not bad ones like Dermott.

Rutherford has been around the league for a couple seasons now, I haven't been a fan of his, but was happy he took on the job, or we would probably still be stuck with Benning.

If they trade Boeser Iโ€™ll be very encouraged. Return doesnโ€™t matter. Itโ€™s about identifying the overpaid passengers and eliminating them
