Every series basically a coin flip, except maybe Cats/Caps, and even then, a hot goalie or Bob poopting the bed could sway the series. - 1970vintage
I could see the Bruins upsetting the Canes, and think Rags v Pens is a toss, but see the Panthers and Bolts winning their series in 6. |

Couldn't find it with a quick search, but doesn't he have some crazy closing out playoff series stats? Like .970 save percentage or something. He is unbelievable in the playoffs. - NewYorkNuck
Yeah that sounds familiar. Think he has a bunch of SO in clinching games. |

Looks like Dermott will wear #24 - 1970vintage
Vancouver was happy to land Dermott, although they see him as a third-pair defender. Allvin noted over the weekend that Vancouver’s pro scouts and analytics departments were both excited about the acquisition, which makes sense because Dermott’s underlying profile is quite clear: he performs exceptionally well in third-pair minutes, but struggles mightily against tougher competition.
In line with similar bets Rutherford, Allvin and assistant general manager Derek Clancey made repeatedly in Pittsburgh, the club is hopeful that they can make a top-four defender out of Dermott in time.
Even if Dermott doesn’t tap into some additional upside, he’s likely a day one upgrade over Hamonic and his ability to transition the puck with his feet and his overall two-way IQ will bring a dimension to this Canucks lineup that is currently lacking.

Knights v Jets
Oilers v Stars
Kings v Preds
All teams we’re chasing guaranteed to get points tonight.
Edit - I don’t think a WC spot is possible, only way in is top 3 in the div |

Saw this on Twitter, the Benning bro’s are out in full force to defend him
“Allvin got more for tyler motte than jim benning did for Shawn Matthias, Dan Hamhuis, Radim Vrbata, Chris Higgins, Chris Tanev, Troy Stecher, Alex Edler, and Jacob Markstrom combined” |

So again, how is this a terrible group? They did basically what you wanted. Maybe they’re “softer”, but the benefit of moving out a player that was a distraction could be beneficial. Like past deadlines, looks like the rest of the league doesn’t really value Vancouver’s players too highly. - 1970vintage
That's just you putting words in my mouth. Never did I say they were 'terrible' but I have followed Rutherford for his whole time in PIT and know what to expect. The new hires will get their chance. But I have the right to question their 'experiences' regardless of gender which seems to be a big deal to some in here and have it spun sideways. Could honestly care less. Just want the new group to make the right moves to get us back to the SCF and have a legit shot at winning. Time will tell but I will take the skeptical route on Rutherford and the new hires for now. Until I see big positive moves that actually improve in the short/long term...I'll hold judgement. |

The first round is usually the best round, a lot of really good teams go home after it. Florida and Colorado final…I’m calling it.

I've seen that one! Lots of rats on the ice, if I recall correctly. |

Getting a third for him was a (frank)ing steal. Played 24 games this season, $3m cap hit this year and next, 31 year old, and seemingly a locker room cancer. - bloatedmosquito
Yes, unloading Harmonic's contract and getting an asset was a total coup. That was actually the homerun of the TDL for Allvin. If he could do the same with Poolman and Richardinson in the offseason, it's would be hard not to become a slurper. |

Goaltending is huge in the playoffs, a hot goalie can take you farther. |
