Now all we need to do is sit and wait.
Watch the sweetener to take the Zaitsev contract be Connor Brown lol. |

Listening to Dorion's comments on TSN.
Hamonic was on waivers????
Sounded like another "proudest moment" in talking about the Nick Paul trade. He didn't even mention Paul by name and was more interested in describing the transaction was about grabbing the Tampa guy |

If anyone believes anything that comes out of Dorion's mouth, then please help me understand why?! All he does is lie. Hamonic, he talked about him like he was still 26 and playing in NY! What a joke.

If the Sens somehow get rid of Zaitsev today I will consider this day a win for the organization, regardless of the weirdness of the Hamonic deal. Same goes for any one of Brown, Mete MDZ.
Still think a 3rd was too much to help out the Canucks but still.... |

Agreed on the 3rd round pick.
I don't think Mete gets moved. MDZ has a chance to get moved though. Josh Brown, man eat his salary and move him please!! If you can eat Paul's salary, eat his too!

The third year is interesting. May be they don't believe in the goalies they have in system.
This is an okay move but necessary given the drama and uncertainty around Murray.
That Murray deal would get any GM in the league fired. |

2 years max! Its typical Dorion. I know everyone was worried he would do another Condon or Hammond 3 year deal, low and behold he does it! |

Exactly that Murray contract is fireable in a normal market with a normal owner! But here in Ottawa, common sense never prevails with this hockey team it seems. Sad, pretty sad. |

Easy. If we start next season with Murray and Gustafsson, there is a very high probability that the season is over by the 20 game mark again. Consider the $2.75M a year salary as insurance against a devastatingly bad season.
Forsberg has played very well and has fulfilled the #1 goalie role this year. He also did a good job last year with a mediocre save percentage on a poor defensive squad. Some goalies take much longer to become #1 goalies - Craig Anderson, Tim Thomas - and Forsberg has shown signs of being a #1 this year.
Better to spend the $2.75M on the guy who was your #1 goalie this year than on Nick Paul who is a very useful #3/#4 line guy. |

Probably 'I have done this twice before and kept my job, why not give it a go again?' |

I am thinking that our $6m goalie is now history and Forsberg is now the answer until one of the kids can take over as #1.
From a budget perspective the number looks pretty good as long as the $6m is going out the door.
Does anybody doubt that Forsberg would command this kind of money as a UFA come this summer? His performance this year has been pretty solid and he is looking somewhat like the late bloomer that Craig Anderson turned out to be.

Fair enough but there is far more to this, again, like I mentioned I will have a piece up later this week on it.

PD is a clown, plain and simple. Like someone asked me on Twitter today, how hasn't the team sent him to public speaking lessons?! Nervous Nelly I tell you in front of a mic. It's so odd! The guy is bullet proof here, no idea why!

A+. Was writing same thing while you were posting. I am happy with this move. And we know the players like him a lot. |

Also Forsberg is beloved in the room and the team plays harder for him. Just typical sens, adding a year for no reason.
However, if Forsberg keeps his numbers the same next year, this is a really good AAV. |

Any GM will tell you, don't give goalies term. That is the issue I have with 3 years. As I said, I got a lot to write about with regards to Murray that nobody has yet in this market. It will blow your mind!

Well if you improve the D, then his numbers should get better!

I posted this Twitter a few minutes ago. Thoughts Sens fans?
Did any other Sens fans find it odd how PD mentioned everyone in the org but McGuire when talking about who liked Hamonic?! I hope a media member asks PD where PM is and what exactly is his role and why he never speaks to the media when PD told the media he would be doing that?! |

It's because he works for finger sandwiches, half off beer vouchers, and a free trip to Barbados every year. |
