They were rumored to want 2 firsts and a second.. or as much as 3 firsts depending on how high of a first round pick you have.. if we don't win the lottery would you be willing to give them our first this year and next and throw a second in too? I would.. they you have another young high end D-man.

They're not looking for picks only. Friedman/Marek reported in January that they're likely looking three to four assets in return. Something along the lines of a 1st, a young former-1st rounder, a prospect and maybe another pick.

I think you're looking at something like 2023 1st, 2022 2nd, Beau, Raty and I'm honestly not even sure that gets it done. They'll almost certainly start with Wahlstrom.

That is a very steep price. Especially when you consider that the coffers are pretty bare in the system. You send Wally and Ratty in that deal and a good chunk of the future forward talent is gone. I know you'd be getting a high-end Dman in return, but I'd have to give that one a good think. Different story if we had several good, solid forward prospects in the pipeline.

But the ultimate goal is to win the Cup. Typically teams have to sell the future to win now unfortunately.
Although seeing how well Wahlstrom and Barzal are producing since being put together. I don’t think you want to trade Wally.

Don't entirely disagree, but it seems like the reality (or close to it) of what it would cost if we want to add Chychrun.

And like I said, there's likely much better offers that they could accept from other teams. I have no doubt Lou will pursue the kid hard, but I don't think we stack up to other teams...in terms of expendable assets we can trade.

I'm not saying that wouldn't be something in the neighborhood of what the Coyotes would want, just that it's a hefty price.

I remember when Toews was traded and a lot of this thread, and one person in particular, was touting how he didn’t live up to the hype and had a piss poor playoffs so he was expendable. So yeah trade Wahlstrom and while we’re at it may as well trade Barzal also. Hockeybuzz GM’s is right

I will say that the Wally Barzy line has shown signs of good puck control at times but obviously isn't producing as hoped. That said, it's only been 5 games together and they have yet to give up a goal against. I do believe there is still something going on with Barzal. I watched him during warm-ups and noticed he was only cutting hard in one direction. (Right).
Let's just hope they show signs of getting it together.

Trade Barzal. Maybe we can turn him into two seconds and get good a third liner for him.

I have to admit, I would have never thought Toews would have come along the way he has. Sometimes it's just 'right player, right system'.. He was certainly talented but he was bad in that Tampa series. He sort of struck me as somewhere between Jack Hillen and Calvin de Haan. I'dsay I missed the mark lol. It definitely sucks seeing him flourish the way he has

Point being we shouldn’t be so quick to give up on a young player who hits a five game rough patch when we have Beauvillier going pointless for 18 games

I’ll also add Toews did have a rough playoffs but he was money during the regular season and for this team he bought an obvious need. Is what it is with Toews but the point remains.

Top PP line is overpassing. PP2 is being more direct and therefore more impactful

Cpt fullofsh1t spewing crap
I was a Toews fan forever. Actually since he played at Quinnipiac where my son was.
Certainly didn’t have a very good PO in the d zone before he was traded but always liked him. The Aves is a perfect place for him as he doesn’t have to play that much d. They are always attacking in the o zone.
Now addressing Wally and Barzal. They have done zero since they have been put together which the piss and moan GM’s wanted forever. Cpt Blowhard being the biggest.
