Getting rid of Konecny? That would be smart. He would love to get away, I am sure. But we do not exactly have a surfeit of fast, stickhandling players with high skills. In Carolina or Florida, he is a 30+ goal scorer a year. Put this idea in the "careful, you might get what you ask for category. - iamscore2day
TK is turning into another player being paid to much for his output. He has never scored more than 25 goals a season, and ever since the bubble, he has been horrible. In 60 games this season he has 10 goals, that is just bad for what he is making. Everyone's punching bag Hayes has 7 goals in 28 games and Hayes will probably pass him in goals this season.

Konecny is a young player whos previously scored 24 goals in back to back years. He shouldnt be moved for the sake of moving him but he's a good piece we can move for s good return. Teams would line up for the guy. Theres no point in having guys like Allison and Tippett if there isnt room for them on the roster. Best players to move for assets are the ones you would rather not trade. If you dont like the player, what makes you feel like another GM would jump at a deal?
You have to trust that they will figure it out. If not we shouldnt be wasting our time with them.

Can I say I am a little intrigued by Hayden hodgson. They just signed him to an NHL deal. scored 18 goals this year. Plays kind of a gritty game but really can fire the puck.
In a way he kind reminds me a little of Pat Maroon. Like Pat Maroon light.
Anyone who has seen more Lehigh games then me provide some more details?
I think he could be a 4th line option as he can bring some offense. Would be nice to see him get some games down the stretch. |

There is room on the roster for the 12 best forwards.

I didnt say he would score 20. I said if he did it would be fantastic. 10-15 would be good.
Logic is fine. We struggle to score goals because we are missing big pieces to our team. Couturier is a huge loss offensively. Hayes has missed half the season. Part of the reason we struggle to score goals is BECAUSE Konecny isnt scoring goals. he has a whopping 10 goals which isnt good enough for a guy expected to pot 20-25.
The rest comes down to having rostered an AHL team most of this year. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
When everybody was healthy last season, they were still only middle of the pack in goal scoring. Not anywhere close to enough goals to offset their poop goaltending last season, or their poop team defense this season.
This is a team that lacks depth and lacks talent. Tippett doesn't change that. Trading TK away only makes it worse. |

9 best forwards. The 4th line is never used to develop top 9 talent. Its used as a defensive line. Unless someone is being punished, only players with limited offensive talent are used there in a defensive role. You never see playmakers or snipers on the 4th line as regulars.

Are all 12 forwards on the team going to be players who need to be developed? I would suggest moving into the modern day NHL where the best teams have talent on all 4 lines. It's not 1975 anymore where the 4th line is a designated defensive line. The main point is that your statement that the Flyers don't have the room for all of the talented players they have is not accurate to put it politely.

So I take it you don't think that Konecny is a luxury and that the Flyers have too many top 6 players?

It wont get worse. Yes we need depth but we also need a top line player. Depth starts with the farm. We have a bottomfeeding AHL team because we have a farm with little to offer. Konecny will get us assets in a return, that will help with the depth.
it is do or die time for Frost and Tippett. I am confident they will succeed. If they dont, you can always build a bottom 6 from FA. Top line player is not as easy to obtain. You are only getting one via the draft or paying an arm and a leg via FA/Trade.
I'd be open to moving Couturier if it could guarantee us Bedard or at least Wright

Last time I checked a top 6 could only dress 2 RW. Atkinson, Farabee and Konecny are more than 2.
Can you move them to LW? Sure. Would you want either 3 as your top line LW? Are you moving Lindblom down to the 3rd line? Laughton to the 4th?

Farabee's been playing LW.
There's no logjam at forward, especially if they do something w/ JVR this summer.

And would Couturier be open to waiving his NMC before he played a game on his new 8 year contract? And would the flyers look to trade a player they just signed to an 8 year deal? |

Dude, it is a three year window of stats so it included Buffalo. Please send an updated stat sheet of just his time in Philadelphia.
So pick it back up and put it away! - WhiskeyMan
Isn't it exclusively Buffalo? The last year on that graph is 20-21. I suspect it will show a significant improvement for this year (though that would still place him in suboptimal category).

Even if its Yes and Yes what team in their right mind would take that 8 yr contract for a guy with lots of recent injuries |

Did they have NMC at the time of the trades? And Richards was a few years into his deal already. |

I believe they had NTC that kicked in the year after or something or shortly after the trade

90 days in paradise when they could be in Rittenhouse square worried about being carjacked. I hope they can get some therapy to deal with the mental anguish of that existence. And their poor kids. Daily trips to the beach. Someone should call child protection services. - iamscore2day
I know you (and others) will say the exact same thing 30 days later in spite of what I say below, but ...
1. Carjacking (and motor vehicle crime and indeed all violent crime) has gone up across the nation very sharply last few years, irrespective of towns small and large, and political affiliation of administration. Just go to the FBI Crime Explorer page and check.
2. Even with its own very sharp rise in carjackings, Philadelphia is nowhere near the the worst in carjacking rate.
3. Rittenhouse square is a very safe area by the standards of big city exclusive areas. I have lived within a 10-15 min walk of the square for the past 30 years.
4. (And while you did not say this), Florida may have no income tax, but it has higher property taxes and is in the bottom 20% in housing afforability. Further, the absence of income tax is only relevant for the games played in tax-free states. Florida has 3 Canadian cities, and also teams with Michigan, NY and Ma (all high tax states) in its division.
In summary, it is highly unlikely anyone in the NHL is choosing Florida over Philly because of high taxes. |

I looked at cap friendly and richards did but carter had nothing, unless it gets removed when they agree to a trade. I’m not sure how that works. |
