To put it simply.... Habs would swap out 6 million dollars in actual money (spread out over 4 years) at a cap hit of 7+ for Weber and take back 6.5 million in actual cash to Dadonov with a 5 million dollar cap him for 1 season and receive 2 draft picks.... the fact that Dadonov makes 6.5 in cash next season means nothing, you clear the books of Weber completely, get 2 second round picks and you lose half a million in cash... like I said, no brainer

And Hughes did say he was close to moving Weber, gotta believe in was there or Arizona

Right? They would need a reason, especially since past practice establishes it to be allowed... Vegas would be better anyway, more desperation there

Really is... I'm convinced they knew, it's why they waited to the last minute and it's why they didn't even tell Dadonov...

VGK really seem to be focused solely on winning the cup, while giving literally zero (frank)s about their players.

You would think there would be some extra ramifications for basically cheating. Hopefully it costs Vegas more to put them in real trouble.

Let's see how the Old Boys Club NHL will handle this.

And on the other side of the coin, still having Weber & Price's contracts on the books when Caufield hits RFA, could be problematic

I'm confident one of them will be resolved soon enough, most likely Weber, unless Price comes back and plays similarly to the level he was at during the playoffs, which could entice a GM to acquire him, with the habs retaining some salary of course.

There's a better chance Price gets hurt and retires

I'd be careful about retaining money on Price, it's a large number with lots of term, handcuff yourself doing that

WAY to early in his contract to think of buyout and/or buy out. It would eat up too much cap and the buyout would drag on for 8 years.

Hope that he gets hurt, retires or LTIR. Only way it can help the Habs. Him playing, will NOT help us in any way where we are right now with the new direction.
