#Canucks BREAKING NEWS
Linus Karlsson breaks Elias Pettersson's SHL rookie goal scoring record!
Linus Karlsson's 25th - LeftCoaster
Makes me laugh whenever I see an update on how this kid is doing. The crying that happened over the Dahlen for Karlsson was pretty hilarious.

Would have been nice to have an extra third round pick to draft a 6'4 guy?

They’ll get what the need when they trade Miller and Boeser at the draft |

I think if they really felt they were a playoff team they would not have traded their most consistent line player Motte and not upgraded a player like Hunt Chiasson Petan .
The GM said they are going to look at Lockwood and Rathbone now. Not the usual moves you make in a playoff push. - VANTEL
A while ago I remember Rutherford saying this group deserved a chance to try to make a run together. Based on what they had been through the last couple of years. I don't see any overt movement from that stance.
I also am of the opinion that the best time for large roster changes are in the offseason. The market opens up then and needs and wants are easier to address without negatively impacting the group. |

They will then turn around and use it to move out OEL

Pettersson was 18, turned 19 during the year, when he set the record…so three years younger than this kid who’s 22.
Perhaps he’s just a late bloomer? Karlsson that is. |

It would have been, but when you are so thin at the depth level, you are calling up a 9th, 10 and 11th type defenseman, you sometimes have to make those decisions.
What would have been nice is if there was some actual depth young guys that can play a few games and not get overwhelmed.like Juulsen, Burroughs etc.
It is why they have had to keep Hunt in the lineup, he doesn't get as overwhelmed as those others I have mentioned |

No kidding, it’s apples to oranges but still really promising development from him.
Funny enough, Rueby was crying about Gadjovich and yet Dahlen is playing on the same team as him in a much bigger role |

I still don't think Karlsson ever becomes a full time NHLer, but I'll be happy to be wrong. |

I can see multiple smaller moves in the offseason. I honestly don't know what big moves can be made. I don't know what they will do with Brock. Do you move Pearson ? 3.25 mil playing top line , fits with Miller.
The flat cap is also stifling all teams. I don't know if it is a slam dunk they have a new look .

For 8 years draft picks didn't matter because they seldom amount to anything. |

I guess, expressing disappointment about losing the only tough guy with promise, is crying, then I guess I was. I think I made a whopping 3 comments about it.
I guess I am just tired of this melted butter, soft team and want to see a player that can handle s hit when need be, not like most of the pansy asses on this team, who throw snow when they think someone might hit them. |

Back then, I said he had potential to be a 3rd line centre, I still think that he might make that level, although I honestly haven't followed him in a couple years. |

So many bad moves by Benning, just so many reaches its dreadful. You always defended his spending and went on and on about no cap space issues though - LeftCoaster
Bad moves even beyond Benning. You have been a fan from the start. You know this team has sucked for 40 of the 51 years at least.

Swapping out Motte and Hamonic for Dermott and the corpse of Richardson should help make this team harder to play against |

I mean I guess, but does he? I thought that’s why they signed guys like Bailey and diGuiseppe. - 1970vintage
Bailey is fast & it ends there. Career AHLer. |

Do you follow him or just nothing ever good happens to Vancouver? If you follow and are pretty sure he won't it is not a shock. I think he will follow Dahlen's footsteps. Bottom 6 , seven goals on the year.

Habs now have 14 picks and the Kraken have 12 picks in this draft. 2 teams drafting 11.6 % of the picks.
If nothing else, those 2 teams are adding a boatload of prospects to the prospect pools. - Reubenkincade
So a boring meh draft watching 2 horrible teams draft all weekend lol |

I think a priority has to be trying to reshape the D and a Righty C. You're right though, not easy with the flat cap. We have to luck out with moving more salary. The following season some of it will happen naturally with bonuses and buyouts off the books.
IMHO Bennings obsession with getting OEL really screwed us both short term and in the long run. |
