Aatu Raty scored 40 points in 41 games (0.98 per) with Jukurit this year.

By points-per-game, that's tied for the 7th-best DY+1 Liiga season ever and sandwiches Raty nicely between Aho (1.00) and Lundell (0.96)/Granlund (0.92)

He’ll most likely be part of the Marc Staal trade to bolster our vet depth.

He was projected to go high and we may have gotten a steal

It’s terrible. The calls for Lameriello’s head are hysterical.

Yea its absurd and hard to follow some of these people. I hope the right moves are made this offseason to get the team back on track

Arthur Staple of The Athletic tweeted that the Wings had a fair deal on the table for Barzal:
He was replying to an account that's now private, which is why the tweets won't show up."

I can't see why the Islanders would ever want to trade Barzal but then again anyone can be traded if the price is right. Still i doubt this was true given that both Yzerman and Lou don't let anything leak. I do wonder wth the Wings could offer if it was true and if this would be revisited in the off-season. Would love to have Barzal in Detroit but scared of what it would cost.

The year before his draft he was projected to go number 1 over-all in that draft. Getting him where we did is still very shocking.

https://islesfix.substack...ign=post&utm_medium=email pretty good run down on all Isles stuff. talks about why Lou not making a move helps in long run.. Raty ... and this bit of info.. with gif of the play Mayfield got hurt at end of game.

"On social media, there was speculation that Scott Mayfield might miss extended time with an injury suffered when blocking this shot late in the third period that led to Zach Parise’s empty-net goal. There was no announcement from the team on the off-day, but if an injury occurred, we should learn the extent Thursday morning along with which defenseman would get called up from Bridgeport in his place."

Appears to be correct:

New York Islanders @NYIslanders
14s
#Isles Injury Updates: Forward Cal Clutterbuck will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery. Defenseman Scott Mayfield will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury.

Also sheds some light on why Cal wasn't dealt. Shoulder surgery on a soon to be 35 year old 4th line grinder is a bit concerning

I am still amazed at how well he came back from back surgery a couple of years ago... I figured he was done. Didn't alter his game in the least when he came back.. pretty incredible actually.

Yeah, although these issues stacked become something of concern as well. I personally think he's noticeably lost a step the last two years and when your main claim to fame is you are perennially near the top of the league in hits shoulder surgery at 35 is problematic. He's such a great personality, having him on board still carries weight, but this is worrisome.
