The best thing to do here is sign him for 2 more years

Aatu Raty scored 40 points in 41 games (0.98 per) with Jukurit this year.

By points-per-game, that's tied for the 7th-best DY+1 Liiga season ever and sandwiches Raty nicely between Aho (1.00) and Lundell (0.96)/Granlund (0.92)

Hot damn!

Appears to be correct:

New York Islanders @NYIslanders
14s
#Isles Injury Updates: Forward Cal Clutterbuck will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery. Defenseman Scott Mayfield will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury.

Oh.

Well… I guess we get to see Salo again, yes?

Maybe. Although last time they called up a d-man Trotz said they brought up Wotherspoon because Salo was disappointing in the AHL after being sent back, so who knows. I assume that Aho draws back in and I guess we'll wait and see who they call up from Bridgeport

Aho is a Group VI UFA after this year, so I'm curious to see if they let him walk (or he choose to do so) or if he wants to re-sign. If the org is not planning on re-signing him, it'd seem kind of dumb to give him much playing time down the stretch. Better to let Salo get as many reps as possible.

My thoughts as well.

I’ve no idea how the organization feels about Aho. He’s always just… there.

I'm betting on Hutton. Salo has been noted by Trotz as not playing well. Plus Mayfield is a righty as is Hutton. Salo is not

With Clutterbuck and Mayfield out I’m hoping we can see the youth play some big minutes?

Hutton is a RHD, so that seems likely now that I think about it

Felt like Trotz calling Aho's mistake the other night "catastrophic" can't be a good thing... I am very curious to see if he gets any more chances.

Trotz confirms Bellows draws back into the #Isles lineup and will be in Clutterbuck’s spot on fourth line.

I'd hope he plays most games. He's due a contract and they should probably take the time to determine whether or not he's going to figure into the future of this team

He was scoring last season, albeit in a short season where they only played two different opponents all year. This season....he ain't.

True they are a vet team now but still have their 2022 First Rd pick. With a solid vet forward core, Wahlstrom and Bellows are still the new players but like Dobson they are starting to show more. Holmstrom has gotten the AHL experience and may get a chance but Raty, Dufour etc. still need AHL time. Being an older vet team makes them attractive though to more UFA's, so can't argue with the strategy.

Holmstrom's AHL experience has only confirmed that he was a terrible pick where we drafted him
