They probably will be similar. They are on the ice at the same time for practically the whole game. The real stat to show is what each player's metrics look like when separated.
I would be willing to bet that Sanheim's analytics improve when untethered from Risto. - mickel25
Yes, that would be interesting for sure. I wonder however if Sanheim would take as many offensive risks playing with, say, Yandle instead of Risto. |

All I am trying to do is 1. challenge the statements that Risto's metrics are that different from Sanheim's this season, and 2. challenge the idea that you can look solely at metrics to determine how a player played in a game. Clearly in this game Risto made some bad turnovers that directly lead to goals against, but when this happens *everyone* on the ice suffers, not just one player. - jd250
1) Why would anyone think to challenge simple undisputed facts?
2) Nobody thinks that you can solely just look at metrics. However when you have a conversation about a player, some evidence needs to be presented other than just opinions. As far as watching the game, you've proven that you don't have the ability to accurately assess a play or a player. |

Considering the lineup features at least 5 players that should be in the AHL, a guy who should be retired and it’s coached by a moron, I’m not sure how one could expect any type of positive outcome. I feel bad for Carter Hart, but I feel even worse for us fans who’ve been subjected to a decade of ineptitude with no end in sight. |

The dressing 7 defenseman is hilarious, since only 4 of them are NHL caliber.

Yesterday I showed the 3 previous games before that, and moving forward I will post these stats between the two players. So we will see if two defenseman that play together for just about the entire game really have different metrics. - jd250
none of that will change the fact RR is an average at best dman.

I was watching the game last night and it just made me sad as to what this once proud organization has become. I mean, just truly sad. The highlight of the game is a 4th liner dropping the gloves. I wonder if the Avs will put up a 10 spot on Friday night(they could if they wanted to). You really need to bring guys up from the Phantoms and see if any of these guys can play. All these other teams have young players producing on a nightly basis and the Flyers have zilch! It's an absolute disgrace. |

I can’t for the life of me understand why he takes any poop at all. If your argument is lack of point production, nobody was ever gonna pick him or any other fourth line player up in their pools in October. - SuperSchennBros
of course you cant understand. This is not shocking in any way.

Metric comparison between Risto and Sanheim this game:
SAT‑F SAT‑A CF% CRel% HIT BLK TOI +/-
Rasmus Ristolainen 15 18 45.5 -0.7 4 1 20 -2
Travis Sanheim 15 18 45.5 -0.7 0 2 20 -2
Another game where their metrics are pretty much the same, but I will keep posting it. - jd250 Show me! - jd250

I was thinking last night who could/should be our next Captain. At first, My mind went to Couts as he’s been here the longest. Then thought maybe Laughton. However, I came to the conclusion I think I’d go Farabee. A) I think he’s the next face of the franchise B) His age can be the bridge between vets and youth. C) he’d have a great cast of Vet As in Couts, Laughts, Hayes and Atkinson. |

And there you have it… one the issues that I have with analytical data… you would think by this Sanheim was as bad as Risto? When the truth is Risto was brutal last night and Sanheim got stuck with him. To be fair Risto had a few fluky bounces and stumbles but over all last night he played a poor game. The Flyers need him to be better. |

Risto did have a bad defensive game last night, multiple turnovers that directly lead Detroit goals. I did not say anything about Risto's game in my post, I just showed the advanced metrics. You mean, when you looked at the metrics I posted they didn't tell you Risto had a poor game last night compared to Sanheim? - jd250

Everyone is suffering due to the play/mistakes of one player. Care to guess who that player is? |

Here's a colorful, easy to read, easy to understand chart that compares Sanheim's results in mins with Ristolainen vs mins with other partners (current to March 10):
green=better, red=worse
xG for % = even strength expected goals +/-
Goals for % = actual even strength goal +/- |

A team is limited to 4 call ups after the trade deadline. The Flyers already used 2 of them for AHL clear day. Which means they have two call ups remaining. They cannot just bring up players from the AHL to see if they can play. That's why they went with the lineup they did last night after trading 3 players. |

Since we are back to our daily bashing of RR......name one coach that RR has had that was a good coach? Good coaches put players in a position to succeed with their skill set. Mind you i would like RR more for $1M less. But he is going to be here for a few years, so this daily RR talk gets old fast.
Who would MJL have targeted instead of Risto?

As well as not being able to score, he's also bad defensively. This is why he's been outscored 27 goals to 12 in very limited and sheltered 5on5 minutes.
He also can't kill penalties. Laczynski or Allison would be a huge upgrade at 4 RW.

He's been in the league for nine seasons and almost 600 games already. Why do you want to blame everyone but him for how his career has turned out?
He claimed to be unhappy in Buffalo because they were a terrible team, so he moved to another team that's just as bad, but then he was happy to take the giant bag of money Fletcher offered him rather than get a chance to play on a playoff team with a better coach. Risto does not give a (frank) about winning, and the Flyers are stuck with him for five years unless the next GM buys him out.

The Comcast Flyers don’t care about history, tradition, or identity. If they did, there would be a better product, a better plan, an identity and the big sign at the WFC would say “Welcome to Broad Street” instead of “Comcast Country”.

Makes sense, but it was sad to see them struggling with that 11-7 lineup last night when Laczynski could possibly have been playing 3C.

so every coach he had was bad and is the issue? I agree a coach will put the player in the best position to succeed. That being said he is forced to play a role he shouldn't because the other dman are worse than him.
My problem is Chuck thinks he is a good top 4 dman when all evidence his entire career suggest otherwise. He is suited for a #5 role on a team
https://www.spotrac.com/n...ee-agents/goaltender/ufa/
that is who was a free agent last summer. Numerous names on that list who I take over RR. Those players where also cheaper $ wise and acquisition wise. As far as making a trade, can only go by who media peeps said was available.

Ask 1 simple question. Look at the playoff teams. Does Zac play everyday on anyone of them?
Zac has no value in the lineup every game.
