The expectation should be Adam Gaudette (Hoby Baker) not Elias Pettersson I think. Which would be great if they have the patience to let him grow his game in the AHL another season or two instead of shoe horning him into the NHL lineup because the roster is pathetically thin.

I honestly don't even see him as Gaudette, maybe he tops out as a Lammikko or something like Alex Biega who's that 13th guy who's just not good enough to beat out someone for an everyday roster spot, but someone who can replace someone in the bottom in the lineup seemlessly with the same skill and production.

If they make the playoffs as the 8 seed you need to have a sign that says “Canucks in 6, Suck it Sutter”

I honestly don't even see him as Gaudette, maybe he tops out as a Lammikko or something like Alex Biega who's that 13th guy who's just not good enough to beat out someone for an everyday roster spot, but someone who can replace someone in the bottom in the lineup seemlessly with the same skill and production.

Gaudette has turned out to be a fringe player who’s days are numbered. Lammikko is useful. As our roster stands today Karlsson’s likely opportunity is a 4L winger who might play up if injuries. 1st he has to impress in training camp & even then ends up in Abby. He’s more suited to need AHL games & lots of TOI. Be nice for us to develop more players in this way so they are ready for a call up if they light it up. Idk when we last had a F in the AHL who did that. Time the farm has young talent performing & not the vets who come & go every year.
