I want to face Boston more than TB.
You never really want to face the cup champs in the 1st round...
And I just feel a lot more comfortable facing Boston, I think they are the 4th best team in this division. - Santo_44
Right now, it's setup that way.. Tampa being in 4th is just weird |

Matthews should win the Hart trophy.. It's his to lose at this point - PatC80
Matthews having a great year, a few others are as well. Huberdeau, Gaudreau and Josi to name only 3.

I usually try and watch golf almost every Sunday afternoon. It’s my way to wind down the weekend. Plus I get the Sunday scaries and don’t like going anywhere Sunday nights.
I wonder if the new series will bring more viewers in. They are doing a golf version of the F1 formula created by the same guys. - bryant
you need to take a nap Sunday in the afternoon. |

What's sickening about that is the replies. This is so normalized in soccer that people feel that a yellow or red card was deserved.
That's insane. Insane!
Look, you want to go down, stumble, make it look a bit worse . . . fine, you're a dink - but going down like they do in soccer should warrant the red card, not the other way around. - Monkeypunk
It's a bit deceiving in that it wasn't a red card - it was a yellow card, which led to a red card.
And it was definitely worthy of a yellow card. It was stupid, childish and selfish.
Having said that, I would have given the other guy a yellow for unsportsmanlike conduct - or whatever the equivalent is in soccer. |

I'm pretty sure we're going to be playing Tampa. I'm not disagreeing that it might be better to play Boston, but based on who each team has left and where they play and how they play those games to date, it almost looks like you could project Toronto to finish with 109pts, Boston with 108 and Tampa with 112 - all behind Florida's incredible 121.
This was a very rudimentary exercise basically taking each team's points percentage against playoff teams home & away and non-playoff teams home & away and then calculating that same points percentage against their remaining games.
The Leafs have fared poorly against playoff teams on the road (4-5-1, for a .450 pts %) and have 7 of their remaining 19 against playoff teams on the road. At home they're 12-4-1. |

Until the motivation to fake is removed it will continue. Start giving a red card out for obvious faking and maybe it will stop. Otherwise it is a way to gain significant advantage without having to actually do legitimately outplay your opponent. - winsix

I disagree.
Better to face them early, than to face them in the 3rd round when their depth is clicking and they have their confidence.

I would be good to see it finishing the way it is now. Florida vs Caps in a goonfest, Carolina vs Tampa, Leafs vs Bruins and Rangers vs. Pens. Ok by me.

They have 19 games remaining left that breakout as:
5 against playoff teams at home (where they have a .607 pts %)
3 against playoff teams away (where they have a .433 pts %)
7 against non-playoff teams at home (where they have a .917 pts %)
4 against non-playoff teams away (where they have a .778 pts %)
If you put that all together, it amounts to 28 more points over 19 games.

I have Leafs with 111 to 113 poits, they play the Bruins in the final game of the season and it is possible the game will be to determine home ice in the first round.

I would take that as well. Car vs tam would be a dog fight. Not sure who would come out of it tbh.
I also feel like the leafs could finally beat Boston too. |
