I personally don't care about this season one way or another, I considered it lost the second both Benning and Green were canned, the run they went on is nice and if they some how manage to beat the odds and get into the playoffs so much the better. I will hold off debating the moves this management group makes until FA because by then, they'll have done all their major moves and we'll have a clearer picture of the team they intend on building.
Honestly, the way I look at this TDL is that we essentially swapped 3rd round picks for a cheaper younger D-man that you can bury in the minors if he doesn't pan out until his contract expires and got a 4th round pick for a 4th line energy guy that wasn't going to sign here for what cap management had allocated for him. That's asset management, something previous regimes lacked, let's remember that much at least. - DariusKnight
You were calling for gutting the team completely before the TDL passed I thought? |

Should be a good game but I hope the Avs kill them….not literally though. - LeftCoaster
McKinnons out after fighting with Dumba last game. If it’s a hand injury that could be bad.
You can cheer for the Flames, I’ll be ok with that. |

I would never gift him a spot. On the other hand, you wouldn't give him a chance.
Again, you miss the point(and make mine for me) about adding another soft player when we already have enough in the system. So trade a 3rd for another soft player because you don't want to let a cheaper soft player into the line up already in the system? Sounds like a great strategy. - boonerbuck
He has had a chance and looked awful, have a look at his NHL numbers. HE WAS BRUTAL. He's not ready, let him go for the playoffs in the AHL and get minutes. |

If you were not in our division, I would probably cheer for you guys. But It's my responsibility to despise you guys. I spit on your hopes and dreams.
Also, I used to be a Nordiques fan. They were my eastern team once I moved out west and jumped on the Leafs hate wagon. When they were moved to Colorado, I became a closet Avs fan unless we were playing them in the p/o. I'm still there...

Why I said to assess him next camp. How would him playing on a Canucks team not going to the playoffs until Poolman(if) returns stop him from playing Abby's playoffs?
Classic Neem.

As a call up to end the season if Dermott wasn't acquired, not a permanent spot. I still say IF he makes the team talking about next season in other posts. Nice try though.
You call Rathbone's opportunity under Green's tire fire his chance? Almost the entire team crashed and burned. That wasn't a serious chance. Logically, he will have more development by next fall and under a coach who will provide better assessment.
I'm not flip flopping at all... you can't stop twisting in the wind. How many times are you going to claim you are done with this argument just to return with more spins?
- boonerbuck
Sure, it's me. Because I'm the one that keeps changing the parameters of the points I'm trying to make.
Doesn't matter when or why you call him up. Rathbone isn't ready. Wasn't with Green, still isn't.
Can't see a point where we need a left side undersized Dman who is an offensive specialist. We've got that position filled already for years to come. I like the Dermott move. Good deal for a 3rd. Safe move, cheap, and moveable to recover the pick if it doesn't work out. Although he doesn't look out of place.
Any of this sound familiar? Because I keep repeating them....while you keep changing again and again while trying to blame me. |

because you dont want to build a roster with waiver/scrap pick ups lol. I only ever wanted waiver pick ups to fill a roster spot once the team sold off players for assets. I am not sure who wanted to build the defense from waiver wires. This team has to start trending in the right direction with this core. As far as the farm and defenseman, other than Rathbone, its not looking good. Woo has dealt with many injuries, Brisebois has not taken that NHL pro step, we know what we have with Sautner and it isnt NHL calibre, and Juulsen is nothing more than a fringe NHL player right now in his career. - Codes1087
Exactly. Other than Bones none of the Abby D are acceptable. Hope only lies in later picks in the NCAA & Europe. None of those are ready & at least 2-3yrs away if at all.
Dermott is here for the transition whether a short or long future. The cap is the immediate task at hand. Takes time unravel JB’s cap mess. It’ll be a step by step process & will require patience. Trade(s) to gain cap won’t help the optics but it’ll come down to that probably. Buyouts? Who knows. JR said 2yrs so I take that as meaning phases of player movement, tough contract negotiations & creating better organizational depth. |

Correcting your misquotes is not changing parameters. I actually admitted when I got your quote wrong before. Not a chance you could dig deep down and find it in you to try that. You just double down with a new misquote.

I like the move. Trading a 3rd for an experienced NHL Dman and cutting 1.5 mil off of the cap is good. The best part is we didn't take on any term and took in a moveable contract. Low risk. Although Dermott doesn't look out of place so far. |

Sadly on this team, they're considered in the upper half of toughness. Compare that to the Jets teams Myers played on, especially during his first couple of years there when he was more relied on as a skill guy and definitely not even in the top 10 of toughest players on his team. Really puts it into perspective right there - Nucker101
The Jets were & still are a team that hasn’t had much success to speak of.
Run this season out PO’s or not & let BB see some prospects play. Offseason moves will happen. BB runs his 1st camp & has a fresh full 82 game run. Far too early to see what the future holds. Progress but how much & how fast? |

I think my pool is screwed. Injuries have been killing me over the last couple of weeks. Lost my top D for the season a couple of weeks ago. Now it looks like MacKinnon is gone. |

Dermott is fine. Too much focus is on him being the 1st player coming in. A 3rd is gonna be earth shaking. There is bigger & harder decisions & actions to come. Let us all be practical.. |

Why wouldnt he still on the lineup next year?! Dermott plays both sides on D. Id love to see anyone over 4 mil not named Hughes out the door. Makes no sense that you cant have both on a roster next year. Turned useless Hamonic into a 25 YO with potential |

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. As tough as they were, they didn't get anywhere. Hockey isn't the schoolyard it once was (unless you are playing against the Bruins and Colin Campbell is the director of player safety). |
