Most people wont fight Reeves.
Is he supposed to run around chasing people taking additional penalties if someone makes a clean hit?
Reeves fought Maroon after he ran Shesty.
If you think Panarin should never get hit, watch another sport, its (frank)ing hockey.
In saying all that, Reeves should be used sparingly. Only against teams that have someone like a Wilson. Plenty of depth on this team that its not necessary to dress him every game. - mdw7413
You must have missed those games where Trouba laid out some clean hits and he answered the bell for each of those hits. Shesty has been run quite a few times, Reaves didnt do poop. |

Which he should't have to. Its (frank)ing hockey. If you can't take a clean hit don't play. This ridiculous notion that people have to fight after clean hits is so (frank)ing absurd |

This is such a load of horse poop.
(frank)ing businessmen that expect to run businesses in a volatile world with zero risk. They ripped off players for generations and now that they are paying out a reasonable amount of their profits to the people who generate them, they make them carry all the risk.
"Oh, I projected to make $200 million and I only made $30, so I lost $170 million!!!" boo (frank)in' hoo. - Tonybere
Right. Whatever happened to the captains of industry who made their money screwing everybody and only owned sports teams to toy with as their hobbies? |

It maybe ridiculous but it happens 80 percent of the time after a big hit. Im just saying with a guy like Reaves who doesnt produce, his only job is to patrol, but he doesnt. |

Also you have no idea if Reaves challenged a person on the ice and they declined. I guess you would have Reaves get the instigator, roughing and misconduct all so the Rangers might lose a close game. |

But think about this year, how many times can you honestly say a player on the Rangers was taken advantage of. Shesty a few times, thats about it. Just having him is sometimes a deterrent |

Huge hits are happening less and less really, though running Shesty is a top priority No No, he is our MVP by far. Yet when he was run on multiple occasions Reaves didnt do a thing. Im not saying kill the guy who hit him, how about planting himself in the blue paint of the opposing goalie and giving him a few whacks. That sets the tone, teams knowing there will be a retaliation for running Shesty. That would be a good penalty. Reaves is by far the most expendable of the Forwards, he should start to earn his money. |

he has single handedly changed the tone of a few games i can recall by throwing his body around and bringing energy. The crowd loves him and i'm sure the same goes for his teammates. $1.7m is not a terrible number for that. Nemeth's $2.5m on the other hand.. |

The players have a certain comfort level with Reaves on their team. He deters bad poop from happening just by his mere presence. The idea he should just pick a fight every game just to earn his 1.7 million is ridiculous.
Reaves earns his money in intangibles. Things that NO ONE on this board can fully understand because we aren’t in that lockerroom.
I’ve said it before, I want him paid by the NY rangers until he retires. Because I know my players aren’t going to get ass slapped most of the time if he is on the roster. It’s a simple as that |

But he still hasn't sent Slewban to the hospital. Reaves is useless. |

i think the humiliation of not being able to be traded is good enough for me at this point. getting booed in your home arena by opposing teams fans is pretty demoralizing |

Reaves DOES produce!
Third in the NHL in hits and he is the only one in the top 25 that doesn't even play 11 mins a game! He doesn't have to fight to be effective. Just remember, it takes 2 to make a fight and if the other guy isn't willing, Reaves isn't going to take a dumb retaliatory penalty. |

If the refs would actually call instigator penalties on 3rd man in incidents, Trouba wouldn't have to fight after every hit. If you make it a double minor it'd go away quick. |

That’s really annoying, thought we were done with that. Brodzinski would be a better fit there IMO. Much more skilled and has a great shot.
But if Panarin has a great game and chemistry with Copp, not good for Strome… |
