i'm still surprised no one wanted jones at the TDL - 2Real
Same. But I guess teams weren’t really looking for goalies this year. Didn’t seem like many moved at the deadline. |

Why is Rupp right and why is Roenick, Hayes and Colaiacovo wrong? - SuperSchennBros
Because Yandle should have never have been at this point. He wasnt good enough to crack the lineup since game one. He was gifted a roster spot. By allowing him to play when he shouldnt have it takes away the integrity of the record. It would be like teams pulling their goalie to allow ovechkin to score goals to beat Gretzky. If teams did that, he didnt earn the record like Gretzky did, same applies here. Jarvis got this far by being a contributing member of the team. Yandle is not contributing to anything but losses.
Hayes is too close to be objective. This is his friend. As for Roenick and Colaiacovo, yes theres an aspect to which you say well why now and what do the Flyers have to play for? However the Flyers are replacing Yandle with a vet player or a 7th D. They got a young university Dman into the lineup to evaluate him at the NHL level.
The question is from a organization standpoint is how do you make that decision and then justify Thompson over Hodgson. Only thing I can come up with is if they want to see if he is still able to compete because they want to bring him back another year.

Yes you did and none of them were top end free agents.
Have a blessed night Schemp. - hello it's me 2050
James van Riemsdyk was the second top free agent to John Tavares. Hayes was probably the fourth top free agent behind Matt Duchene, Sergei Bobrovsky and Artemi Panarin the summer of 2019. Once again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. |

I’m not going to give this a real answer because this post is ridiculously long and the answer is really simple. |

Pretty sure Mike Rupp has a game 7 stanley cup winning goal. - rayc16
So does Max Talbot. What’s your point? |
|
|
|
I can’t recall how many cups he has but if he has any rings, how many points and games does Rupp have played on those winning teams? - SuperSchennBros
who (frank)ing cares. His role was to be physical, wear and grind down the opposition. Like a Zach Mac but could actually play the game |

I didn’t question Max Talbot playoff value like you did Mike Rupp. |

They are mid level players you dope. Not top end or elite players Schemp. The Hayes of the world is all the type of players they flyers can now get; with an over-payment.
Guess the Yandle benching will ensure no one signs right? |

You clearly don’t watch or know much about hockey. Mike Rupp was a decent player and is well spoken, knows the game. Regardless, if he was a fourth liner or first, he had a solid response with logic and reason. Adults can comprehend things like this. |

If Yandle was still an NHL player he would be on the ice right now. If Yandle didn't have the iron man streak going into the season he wouldn't be on an NHL team right now. |

Hayes was the only good Center available behind Duchene and Pavelski that season. Flyers needed a Center. Duchene signed for 9 million. That really only left a 34 year old Pavelski and 26 year old Hayes

How many goals do you think went in this year because Yandle didn't want to get injured? You have to go all out in the NHL |

That’s still the definition of one of top free agents that summer, which by the way most of you loved the signing. I didn’t but the Flyers got their guy…
I love the convenience of the arguments though. |

Rupp won a Cup as a rookie with the Devils, made it with Rags but not the Pens. His stats are pedestrian. He may not have been as effective as I thought I remembered him but his opinion shouldnt be discounted because he just a fourth liner |

If you’ve ever listened to the guy speak or explain the game you would know. Exactly, doesn’t matter what his role was. He addressed the situation and it was probably the best response I’ve seen. |

No what Mike Rupp is right here, right now is convenient to your argument. If he were in the league today, you’d be leading the way of ushering a player like him out. A 19 point career high on a stacked penguins team is not that impressive. |

I like the signing as well. He filled a hole. Hayes has looked great since returning from injury. He's not flashy but he makes good plays

600 + games in the NHL is pretty good. I love Roenick but I don’t agree with his take on this. I think Rupp made some good points, with out insulting the player, said something I have been saying all year….it Seemed manufactured. I’m with you on the timing of this as that seemed a bit off but the Flyers need to get the kids playing….it should be and is now the focus for the last month. The Flyers have assured that Yandle will at least hold the record for the rest of this year. |

Are you serious? This is what Zac MacEwen has been evaluated on all season long, especially with the loss of Aube-Kubel. |

I’m not a Hayes guy at all. I think he’s apart of the same Fletcher problem. Hayes brings in his friends. Fletcher brings in his. It’s laughable. I don’t care whether or not Yandle plays but ending his streak now when the season doesn’t matter anymore is what makes the Flyers look inept. |
