Want more proof that Yeo is a clueless coach. Nate Thompson had the 5th most ice time at 5 on 5 among forwards in last night's game. |

They want to keep their credentials
They don't want to be pannacio'd - penguininnevada
1) Tim never lost his credentials. He had a falling out with the Inquirer, and went to Comcast/NBC Sports Philadelphia. Years later, he was part of a salary-cutting purge that had nothing to do with his coverage.
2) No one loses credentials for their coverage per se. The PHWA protects its members in this regard. A team cannot deny access due to unfavorable reporting. Unprofessional or unethical behavior might get someone banished. Specific to the Flyers, they have one of the most lenient credentialing policies in the entire NHL.

I'm guessing the thinking was that he's one of their better face-off guys now? Yeo just kept rolling that 4th line out there late in the 3rd. |

Sheesh! I don’t know what happened to make Phantoms reporter Tony Androckitis of Inside AHL Hockey start covering the Penguins farm team instead. Damnit…who else really regularly covers the Phantoms live? Flyers do you care at all about your fans? Some of us liked following the prospects there. - NC Flyers Fan
I do a Phantoms section on many blogs here and the occasional Phantoms related article on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. Also Jason Myrtetus and I always have a couple tandem interviews per season with Brent Flahr to discuss prospects in the system. |

I disagree with the timing of the scratch. If you’re not gonna do it when the games matter, there is no reason to do it at all. |

It seems some people just want a hot take and are using RESPECT as the reason why it was unjust. However, respect as many on this site have pointed out, is a 2 way street.
If Yandle was giving it his all and really trying and it was just a matter he was completely cooked (he is) then I would have said bite the bullet and let him play it out as it was a franchise mistake to sign him. At least he would have been doing all he could with his now limited tools.
What we have been seeing however is lazy pinches at the point that end up going the other way, followed by half hearted attempts to impeded the on rusher...ole style, and then most disappointing is no attempt to back check or chase down the mistake in a lot of cases. That is where I see a lack of respect for the integrity of the position, as a teammate and ultimately to the streak.
Iron man isnt just about suiting up...it's about doing it in a way that shows complete commitment to the team, the game and to yourself.

You must be a very insecure individual to feel the need to insult people's intelligence on a regular basis like you do. I actually can't stand losers like you!! We have a difference in opinion, but somehow you act like a little kicking and screaming child when someone disagrees with you. I totally disagree with your take on Yandle! Rupp is actually intelligent and played in the league for many years. And since you are being disrespectful why don't you go phuck yourself? Thanks! - Phillywhiteout
Rupp did play in the league for many years. As did Roenick, Colaiacovo and Hayes. Rupp also mocked Jagr’s salute, in a game. First class, knowledgeable guy, all the way bud. This is what we’ve come to. Defending Mike Rupp’s knowledge of the game. |

If he was still a viable NHL player, and not stealing money for the entire season I may have had an issue. But since IMO he sullied the record by being completely inept on the ice, and will very likely be passed by Phil Kessel early next season, the whole exercise felt like a waste of time.

I generally do not care either way at this point. But Yandle should have never gotten the record to begin with. The Flyers have already done him a solid by allowing him to play one minute this season. He has the record.
I admit the timing is weird. However, he is quite literally the worst d-man in the league. He got his record now it is time to retire. - mickel25
I agree with this. This isn’t an unreasonable take.
We have guys on this board using the excuse “the kids need to play” as if Yandle or his streak was holding anyone back. Ronnie Attard played Saturday and Sunday. You know who else played? Nick Seeler on Saturday and Kevin Connauton on Sunday. Neither guy makes this team better. So hiding behind the kids in an invalid point. |

Are nick Seeler and Kevin Connauton viable NHLers? The games don’t mean anything at this point. Many of you have threaten to boycott but many of you would rather watch the games and live in your own misery instead. |

I understand that opinion but on the other hand for the longer term rebuilding of the team I think it's more important to let the younger guys play now.
That said, in my opinion, he should've been benched long ago. If management really thought there was some way to salvage the season why did they think he was going to be able to be a helpful part of it? Clearly his play was sub-par.

Compared to Yandle they most certainly are better options and players.

I think this is the right take. We set ourselves up for this criticism by signing the guy but he has the worst +/- in the league. You can criticize that metric but it corresponds to what you see on the ice. KH is going to stick up for his roommate but this should have happened a long time ago. I would like to see Zamula on the ice too. |

I agree with the timing issue. Seeler, Connaughton and Yandle all should not be playing a regular shift in the NHL. My argument is that Yandle should have never been signed and therefore never gotten the record.
I do believe that teams need to treat players well. I also think players need to realize when they are done. The Flyers have treated Yandle more than fairly. Yandle needs to realize he is done. I think that is a tough realization for sure.
