Kapanen so (frank)ing useless. He pulls up CONSTANTLY. Get the puck deep you anus tart! - Rinosaur
He loves stopping and turning at the half wall. Never tries to power to the net or cycle. So frustrating. How is that not shown on film and coached every single day? |

It's absolutely ridiculous how often Florida comes back from big deficits...down 5-1 not even halfway through tonight, and now up 6-5. |

Needless to say, Rodrigues's stock came crashing down just as fast as it rose earlier in the year. He sucks right now. Im not going to be too hard considering he was a big part on why this team survived earlier in the year when everyone was out.
I feel the Penguins are a good team but unless something changes or someone gets hot, they wont be that "great" team. I think they could beat anyone in the East in a 7 game series except Florida and probably Tampa. I feel fine with them against any team in the Metro. I just dont see a path where they could beat 3 Eastern teams and then the best team in the West, probably Colorado.
One thing I hate about Sullivan is when the other team figures him out, there is nothing he can do to fix it that night. They play their game no matter how badly the other team is beating them at it (not saying that's what is happening tonight, just an observation). Bylsma did the same thing. |

Correct! We are a good team during the regular season as a perimeter team but a bad playoff team that doesn't have the horses to win in the playoffs. The past 3 yrs have proven that and a jarry meltdown last yr... |

Pretty much sums it up. And as someone said above sully doesn’t adjust. Not in game, not in an entire playoff series. That being said I’m actually surprised he’s trying different things lately but I don’t think he’s anything special.
The east is up for grabs, the pens will struggle mightily with nyr for sure, but I think anything’s possible. Whoever survives the west will have to deal with 3 physically demanding rounds.. except for the team who gets Edmonton. Kane was a good pickup by them though. Can’t wait for guddy and zadarov to be in the playoffs, and Florida is just built to be a beast. Fast, physical, and cap doesn’t look terrible even with Bob. |

We were in seventh place when ERod was a big part of the team. The truth is during that time Jarry was the reason we weren't last.
Not really sure what ERod is doing out there. He looks to me like he's just running around as fast as he can with no particular purpose.
I have much more faith in Hextall than I do Sullivan. Hextall didn't hesitate to rid himself of Sulli favorites Simon and ZAR. We are now a better team.
Returning to ERod, I'll go back to the two rules I try to adhere to on this board. Rule 1: ERod can do no wrong. Rule 2: When ERod does wrong, refer to rule 1. |

What are you watching? The Avs, even with a few studs missing, have much more finishing ability down through the lineup and their goalie played better. Pens outplayed and out chanced them last night...couldnt finish as much as them. Avs are a deeper better team overall, no secret there haha. Pens are a great team that can't finish well but this perimeter narrative is off this season, as it was last playoffs.

Charts are cool and everything but it doesn't tell the whole story. Jarry was constantly screened and even let in a blue line shot. Mike rupp even mentioned pens need to get in the dirty areas and muck it up and get a dirty goal. Great to outshoot the other team but you need to be in the goelies grill and limit his vision and create havoc because when the playoffs come goals are hard to come by and very few pp chances.
The narrative gets old, pens outshot, had better scoring chances but lost. Charts favor pens but still lost. No morale victories in the playoffs!

I watched it all myself and there was plenty of chances, rebounds and action around Kuemper, far more than Jarry... and thanks for the cliche this morning hahaha

Also, people debunk this every year when its said.... There aren't less PP's in playoffs...and I'm pretty sure there's almost identical amounts of scoring...could be wrong on that one.
