Although if they are close and Levine gives Conte the $$$$ needed to compete maybe just maybe they both stay.
The new Arena must be bringing in new revenue so I’m hoping that Levine spends some of it.
Going to be interesting to see what happens.

Trusting Daniel Levy to do the right thing is like betting the same horse as The Mush. All he cares about is investment, not football.

If Conte goes, it’ll be a crushing blow to THFC. He’s already stated multiple times if he’s not backed financially he’ll leave and there’s a certain club that wears red in Manchester that would be all over him.

Redknapp was old and, frankly, got lucky with Bale. Poch was NEVER supported. Mourinho was never given the proper players for his system (plus Toby and Vertonghen were aged at that point). Nuno should have never been hired because Levy didn’t want to spend for Conte until he had no choice because the club was so low.

Levy cannot be trusted.

And in the biggest match this weekend, I'm hoping LFC crushes Man City.

Seems like all fans feel that way about Levy.
Agreed Nuno was a bust.
I’m hoping they give Conte the money he needs!

As crazy as it sounds my second favorite team is Man City.😬
Maybe because I’m a Spurs fan so I need to have a backup.

Something sitting under the radar and a huge positive for this team is Dobson. The kid has hit the 40 point mark. What is even more of a positive is that if you look at his point production, it is balanced between 5v5 and PP opportunities.

Dobson and Sorokin have probably been the two shining bright spots this year. Dobson is really turning into the kind of defenseman we've been sorely lacking for a long time.

Could be the main stay on the back end for many years to come.

Tonelli needs help!

Go to Kevin Allen’s new article about Getzlaf a possible Hall Famer and write in John Tonelli for HOF before Getzlaf

Thanks

Big time. I see him as a Pietrangelo-type defenseman, when he hits his peak. 50-or-so points, high-end but not elite offensive production, and very steady on the defensive side of things.

Didn’t see the game but I’m impressed they beat Carolina and at 2-1 makes it even better. More like the Islanders we expected this year.

They always have a tough time against Canes. They have for years. Biggest knock on last nights game was that they could not break through on PP. Sorokin played solid and kept them in the game early.

The never say quit of Palms with less than 30 secs in regulation capped off the win. The way this team has played since February leads me to believe. That several guys were hurt early on (Varly, Palms, Clutter); guys like Parise and Chara needed time to adjust. They have been playing Islander hockey of late.

I do not think the window is has closed on this team yet. Mind yes I think there will be no playoffs this year but if Lou can tweak a few components. The isles can be viewed a contender next year.

Call me a homer but after watching Casey's hit on Smith. One do not think it was a penalty. Let alone a player safety interview. Yes, you heard me correctly.

Smith goes to retrieve the puck, all the time looking over his shoulder to see who is coming.

It is not a straight hit from behind with numbers showing.

Casey glides into Smith and does not leave his feet.

At point of contact Smith turns left and lowers his head.

As Casey glides into Smith the force of the hit Smiths head to hit boards.

Had Smith not lowered his head on the turn he would have been fine.

I do not think there should any additional penalty.

Didn’t watch the game and saw this post so I looked at the replay of the hit.
I do think it was a boarding penalty only because it was a hit into the numbers. As you stated he is looking over his should and turns towards the boards which is true but he needs to face the boards to play the puck there at some point and Casey doesn’t slow up and hits him from behind when he’s in a vulnerable position.
I don’t think there should be any other disciplinary action levied on Casey from the league on the hit. It was a 2 minute boarding penalty period.
Just my opinion of course.

A defenseman that can fit into the top four. Some say an offensive defenseman but I am thinking a solid partner for Dober. Would love Chychrun would be nice but I do not see that happening.

Affordable: Chris Wideman; Nikita Zadorov; Erik Gustafsson
Costly: John Klingberg; Matt Dumba

Pulock and Pellech
Dober and ?????
Mayfield and Salo

Need more consistent scoring in the Top 6/9. Bailey and AB are my targets for improvement.

Maybe you all see it differently, but I do not agree with the suspension to Casey. Especially with what the league allows.

I agree but that’s a little more then a tweak imo. This team has needed offense for I’m not sure how long and we’ve been unable to make that happen. Hopefully it does but it’s not all that easy to do hence why I’m saying I’m not sure tweak is the best adjective.

Tweak might have been the wrong choice of words. They definitely need a top four defenseman and a consist scoring forward. There are some pieces out there both UFAs and for trade. I would like to see this team sign some guys in lieu of giving up draft picks and prospects.

The need to stock their their farm system. With Owners willing to spend money they should be putting dollars into the scouting staff. But that is a discussion for another day.
