benching Heinola is a joke. the Heinola - Smidt pairing allowed fewer shots and chances while creating more than any pairing Stanley was on. Want to talk about toughness? well Stanley got pushed off the puck pretty easily on Detroit's goal last night. there is not one single reason to play Stanley over Heinola, not one!!
I've been hard on Wheeler, but I've actually liked his game lately, he just plays to much!! Wheeler is gassed after 40 seconds. Last night he drew a penalty and then stayed out for the pp and was useless, he can not be on the ice for more than 45 seconds no matter the situation.
Shief is dealing with some off ice stuff but that's no excuse for his consistently poor effort
we need a coaching staff to realize we were most successful when we played four lines and the top 6 had similar minutes and the bottom 6 did as well. - Ross77
I honestly can't recall a time when this team ever rolled four lines. |

You've liked that line? They haven't done anything since they've been put together. - JetFuel
I have. They haven't been very productive, but they have been good defensively, and can generate some pressure. Again, not just based off of production, and without looking at advanced stats, my eye test likes the line |

7 players left from the playoff loss to Vegas. Not counting Stastny who left and came back. I believe that most of the 7 players signed extensions in the years that followed....so I would assume that they are not pissed at anyone. The remaining 12 players were not here, so I think Vegas is behind us. - bennythehat
The trust in Maurice was shot, and likely the start of the Wheeler/Scheifele dictatorship |

Interesting theory....but that would suggest that Maurice was Chevy's boss.
Coach plays the players that the GM gives him.
If Chevy wants the coach to play the kids, then he shouldn't acquire more veterans.

They just sent Heinola down again?????
Let him play meaningful minutes
I just don’t get it with Heinola and the Jets |

Very frustrating. Jets need to move 2+ defenseman this summer. Heinola and Samberg need a shot to actually play.

Great if they call up Gawanke and get him in the lineup! |

The last time this team rolled four lines was when they made the conference finals. That is also when Lowry was placed on the 4th line and the Jets were able to exploit match-ups by doing so. |

The Jets should just get rid of all the veteran D-men outside of Morrissey. I still believe that Stanley will become a beast under a new coaching staff. He will prove why he will be the most important pick that Chevelallseasonoff ever made. |

Chipman is Chevy’s boss.
Maurice had Chipman’s ear.
Chevy wasn’t in charge, Chipman and Maurice were.
This is why every time we’d be rolling through the summer, seemingly about to hand a job to a prospect, you would see a last minute veteran signed to take it away again. It’s why the lineup never changes, and Ehlers is forever a tweener here. It’s why the team has avoided young players since 17-18. |
