Sillinger would have been a real nice pick at 9 OA.
Oh well, not much can be done about it now.

Trying to figure out when would be a good spot to take him. I think he has the potential of Adam Pelech. Where do you take Adam Pelech though. Good player but nothing overly special.

Even in a weak draft like the 2012 was, I don't think I would take Pelech in the top 20 in a re-draft either. In what looks like a better draft this year, I'm not sure I would go higher than 25th for Pickering.

- manvanfan

I have Pickering in the 18-23 range. If he turns out to be anything like Pelech, that would be an good pick.

Dermott drafted in the 2nd, flipped for a 3rd after no progress = asset management ๐Ÿงฎ

So far I've noticed he's the quickest guy we have to transition. Has a great stick and is good at defending lanes. Better than average skater. Quicker than I thought.

I wouldn't say he's literally good at nothing. He's got some decent skills.

- Load Management

I agree with your evaluation so far.
I would say he is an all important #5 defenseman

I would disagree on his skating speed. He's avg I'd say. I actually thought his first few steps were kind of slow.

He's not exactly Tanev in the defensive end. He's not Schenn on the physical side, he's not Hughes type skater, he's not Makar type offence. Doesn't have a Weber type shot.

So, you compare him to the best defensive defenseman in the league in Tanev, one of the best skating offensive defensemen in the league, the best all around young defenseman in the league, Makar, and a legend in Weber.

Kid is doomed for failure.

That's great, not many 1.5 mil guys do. He fills a nice niche in our lineup. I'm good with that.

Could you pick 5 Dmen any more different to compare him to?

If Canucks traded down and grabbed him at 20th. I don't think I'd be disappointed, depending on who was still on the board. I wouldn't be as excited if they could pick him up at 25th or later though

The funny thing is I can make one comment and literally set off 24 pages of arguing . People that I haven't even responded to in a year want a piece of me.

Who is the hysterical one or ones? I am sitting back laughing my ass off .

I mentioned those players because those players have attributes that sets them apart and gives teams reasons to keep them in the line up. Good at everything but not great at something isn't a reason to keep someone in the line up nightly if you have a strong defence.

And we don't so a player like Dermott will keep us right around the 17 mark.

Won't hurt the team won't help the team . Welcome to the middle.

Dermott doesn't keep us right around the 17th mark. He makes no difference to the team. Just like Motte and other fringe players

Linkoping 5 Orebro 3 FINAL

Jonathan Myrenberg ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ +1 5 SOG

-

Malmo 5 Farjestad 2 FINAL

Lucas Forsell ๐Ÿšจ +1 5 SOG 2 PIM

Myrenberg's team now in the finals. Not sure what's happening in Sweden right now but first and second rounds were best of 3 games and Semi's and finals seem to be 1 game only.

This is what I am saying. He does nothing. I believe we are at 17 th now. Don't care enough to look it up.

I said it a few times he does not move the needle.

I'm not confused here, so I don't know what you don't understand. If you are comparing your beer league hero's to actual NHL players. That could be your problem.

That's my boy.

Rathbone and Myrenberg are the only 2 picks Canucks have taken, that I have wanted at that spot, in the mid-rounds.
I have been following prospects for about 4 decades now and am at 2 for 100 or so.

I think so, he carries the appropriate price tag for one. It seems like he can move around in the combos. Eat some minutes if needed.
