One last thing, aren't the Canucks like 5-1 without Hughes in the lineup. That is like .833 win percent, or 137 point pace.
Trade Hughes.

I will play devils advocate? Do you see him top 6 or bottom 6? If he is not a skilled player does it not go against your campaign against smaller players?

I like him a bit but I may want to get away from the diminutive bottom 6 also and look for more skilled bigger players. I think Lammikko is a good start.

don’t forget to trade EP and Demko, let’s not forget guys you’ve hated on when they weren’t playing well. Oh and Bo/Boeser too.

My closest comparable for Boeser’s next contract isn’t an easy choice. So here goes…

Tyler Toffoli 4.25m
- both rs RW
- scorer more than a playmaker
- 5yrs older
- doesn’t get equivalent PP1 TOI

Debrusk got 2/4m but Brock doesn’t sign for that low ball.

Given the age difference Boeser has to be given credit for more potential. Ignoring the QO again & with Boeser having a down year 5-5.5m max. Term 4-5 years. If more then 2/6m no trade protection. That puts his next contract into early UFA with less control but avails to easier trading. He can get another big pay day if he shows well. I’d shop his rights 1st before signing him. I’d replace him with Kane on a 2-3/6m. At worst Kane in BB out is a trade off with assets gained from BB to offset the age differences.

Those are pretty bad comparables. Here's a decent article from CA breaking things down further, and a link to CF that show some contract comparables:

https://canucksarmy.com/2...d-brock-boeser-long-term/
https://www.capfriendly.c...arables/brock-boeser-9652

In looking at the comparables, the range between Buchnevich and Connor seems like fair territory for Boeser, with Nylander representing the upper range. That puts Boeser in line for a cap hit that takes up between 7% and 8.75% of the Canucks’ total cap.

If the cap ceiling rises to $82.5 million for 2022/23, as is predicted, that would slot Boeser’s AAV in between $5.78 million and $7.22 million.

I get that but those are age based & only Buchnevich & Toivanen is a reasonable choice imo. I went production wise & similar skill sets. Hence Toffoli. Boeser is not in Connor’s league or Nylander. Boeser’s skating gets him discounted cuz imo he needs to be carried more. Even on PP1 he’s the 5th wheel. Therefore 4/5.5m ideally at most. 5/5.5m even better.

That’s his worth not a prediction.

LA has 9 games left and sit at 86 points.
LV has 10 games left and sit at 82 points.
VAN has 10 games left and sit at 78 points.

If LA goes just under .500 hockey to get to your 94 points....: LV would have to go 6-4 to get there. Van would have to go 8-2 to get there.

I think LA goes at least .500 hockey and 95 points. LV would have to go 6-3-1 and VAN 8-1-1....

Pretty tall task for the Canucks.

If it wasn't for him it would have been 5-0 not 5-1 . Wait until they play some better teams before you plan the parade. Last time I checked they were sitting around 17 th.

You really have a hard time understanding about spending cap in the wrong spots. They have 15 or so bottom pairing guys in their system. You just essentially traded a third round pick and wasted cap space on another Ben Hutton. For the record Hutton just extended with Vegas for 850 K not 1.5 mil. Last time he made that type of money was when he was a Canuck. Coincidence? Or did we hire Benning 2.0 ?

I don't hate the player I hate the trade.

Indeed.
Vancouver lost so many points to non playoff teams like Detroit and Philly for exemple. 10 OTL kills as well.

Vegas gets the better chances IMO.

12-1 under Boudreau first 13 games and Boudreau did get the Caps in that one year at 11-1 in their final 12. Could it happen?

What is “diverse justification”?

Who was the 4LC they lost?

“Toughest” Dman?

You have a hard time understanding we shed 1.5 mil in acquiring him. That he's better than bottom 6 and he provides more skill than the guys we have there. Now we can move them because we have an upgrade.

It is a trigger word that is meant to rile or mock certain posters,

I think it is great that the club are a far more diverse group than what the last dumb (frank)kers had.
