It’s hate to a degree as in the cap he takes up & their is enough other pieces to keep. Eg resign Miller & Bo. Biz is JB’s contract QO is the problem. I’d keep him if a new contract showed his worth. 4-5/5m. Once he gets into 5.5m & more no thx. He’s paid to snipe & this season has hurt his value & he doesn't do much than get quality TOI on PP1 & no PK & doesn’t hit or skate well enough to backcheck. Pretty much 1 dimensional & a passenger.
- Nighthawk

This season has hurt his value but it's a good thing we don't just cherry pick one season. For his career he scores at a 64 per 82 games.

Add Sharks, Seattle, Ducks, Philly and Montreal.
A 2nd and a prospect would be a fair deal.

If this season is the only sample size being consider, I agree. But I doubt any scout or GM is going to ignore his previous seasons when considered his capabilities.

I think it mostly comes down to economics.

- boonerbuck

Yes & goal scorers aren’t cheap & in high demand.

Economics will definitely play a big part of it.

Depending on his contract ask that’s a start. The prospect would be key. I can see holding out for a top 9 roster player with upside & a 2nd & prospect. Top 4 RHD prospect be ideal but everybody wants those & not enough to go around.

Agreed.

I would like to see someone like Formenton and a pick from Ottawa, something like that.

Yes but he’s who I pick to move on from for other needs. Not in stone it’s the contract timing that leads me down this road. If he signs a fair team friendly then keep him.

Ok my turn.

I’m not defending a well paid goal scorer who cannot pot 30+. Doesn’t drive play & slow. Somebody else defend what he is worth or why to keep him.

- Nighthawk

Let's look at the options. Strictly points because he doesn't do anything else.

Boeser career 248 points in 317 games.

Debrusk career 170 in 310 games. 4M x 2
Fabbri career 152 in 302 games 4M x 3
Vrana career 182 in 311 games 5.25M x 3
Domi career 251 in 375 5.3M x 2
Buchnevich career 195 in 301 5.8M x 4
Miller career 190 in 360 5.25M x 5

Steve Y gave out 3 of those contracts

I think there are better players on other teams to target than Formenton.

5-3 for Minny. Gotta love LA sinking. Whatever thin hope for playoffs exist go through 3rd in the Pacific The weak link are the Kings. We have to beat the Knights and surpass the Kings have to fail out like we tried to do for the 2 weeks prior to this win streak.

LA 3-6 Wild. The scenario will not change anymore.

Now Vancouver is 2 games behind the 3rd spot.

Next game against Vegas will be the most important of the entire century

Nice list thx.

Debrusk a low comparable.

Of all those none gets top 6 & PP1 TOI like Boeser. Given he’s a better scorer & does less else still I like 4-5/5m. Getting prime TOI & linemates props him up. He benefits from that being a non play driver.

I’ve considered that into my offer. Goal scorer getting prime TOI. 1 dimensional sniping 3rd wheel.

Boesers skating has him as last man back cuz too slow in transition. Catered to that in the system. That is .5-1m in contract deductions right there. A further .5-1m deducted as in not a puck handling play driver.

If he was an established consistent 30+ goal scorer he gets more. He isn’t & doesn’t deserve it on projections.

Pouty has played well recently, but I don't watch as much this season, as I lost interest as soon as Green was re-signed.
Pretty sad when one idiot GM can re-sign an absolutely terrible coach and make a loyal fan since their inaugural nhl season, lose interest in the team.

I can tell you that all of those players listed there had been given MANY chances on their teams over the years to play top 6. Not so sure about PP1 time.

As Nucker and I have talked about a bottom 3rd liner is making 3M a year now.

Even Boeser's poor PPG player this year has him as the 34th highest PPG average among right wingers this season.

If you are the GM of the other team are you giving up that young player with speed who is under a good contract? I don't think I would. Why not just sign a Max Domi or Nino N for free ?

Boeser slow as molasses for a young player with speed and a second? Who is our trading partner? someone that can’t see?lol. The way we are talking in here makes me think he’s not good enough for the nhl lol
