Congrats brink!! Nice victory! Shafted with the hobey Baker award and now has to play for this cellar dweller team this season.

I will say that with the youth movement the future definitely looks brighter than this season did

I'm ready for change

- Bob Habib

While I agree with your sentiment, this is the Flyers led by Clarke and Holmgren that we are talking about. We do not have a youth movement and never will as long as they and Comcast are in charge. We will continue to be a very vanilla, boring, grinding bubble team that is perpetually 2-3 player away.

Only saw parts of the game last night cause there are better things to do most nights. I did happen to see that masterful play by Frost though. Gives up the puck in his own zone on a bad drop pass and then hustles back to break up the play to his credit, but then he commits a terrible blunder by sending a weak back hand pass to no one right up the middle of his own zone. As Al Morganti said, WTF was he thinking. He's being given every chance to succeed, and he needs to produce more and stop making bonehead plays like the one I just mentioned. Thanks!

The only thing he really needs to overcome is his size.

Will Brink’s size issue be closer to Tyler Ennis or Jared Spurgeon? All three are the same size. Ennis and Spurgeon grew up playing together. Ennis had big upside and Spurgeon had little. Ennis was inconsistent in Buffalo and bounced around. Later he developed a good work ethic and became a solid pro. But he never got stronger and his career has been hampered by him getting outmuscled. Spurgeon is a solid 1st pair D man who uses leverage, positioning, instinct, intelligence and elite stick work to break up plays. Spurgeon didn’t put on weight but got physically stronger over time. Time will tell.

Thanks for stoppin by dipshyte. And yes, Jones has been outplaying Hart the last few games. Hell, even Hart wouldn't argue that point. Why do you think Jones got the start last night? Why don't you stick to watching the Sixers suck? Thanks!

D Grant with 13th goal...
Man o man scrubs leave here and flourish.

I think Frost had some nice shifts and some bad shifts.
Hope the narrative next year is that he is dominating games and maybe adding say what
50 points?
Rather then saying he had a good game or series of games.
No more he missed a year as an excuse come October.
I still say top line Ahler, bottom six Nhler. Hope I'm wrong, just don't see it happening.

at the end of the day production is what matters when talking about frost and Tippet. The good game mantra without it will get old real quick

Are the Flyers going to change the way they develop players/do things next year or are they going to do the same things but expect different results?
- Flyers_01

Yep that’s this teams operating plan, if it’s broke don’t fix it.

Hart had one bad game and another with a few fluky goals....you made it like Jones was a Vezina candidate compared to Hart. But the Frost point elucidates your moroness to a T.

Are you going to mention the pinpoint pass from behind the net out to Sanheim on the first goal, the spin move and pass to JVR to start what would have been a tic-tac-toe goal sequence if Konecny hadn't slam-dunked it off the post rather than into the open side of the net, the two takeaways on one shift, the PP sequence he started where Attard got picked by Stolarz's glove, the way he turned Fowler inside out on a shift in the third period.... or are you only going mention one of the two bad shifts he had last night?
- bmeltzer

That tik-tac-Post by Konecny was easily one of the most pretty and creative plays I've seen from the Flyers this season, too bad it was post and out and not a goal.

You can almost see Frost and Tippett figure it out (playing at the NHL level) with each game.

I think Hart can be an elite goaltender in this league. He's shown great promise but has also unfortunately been left out to dry with this franchise over the past 2+ seasons.

I wouldn't be so quick to toss Hart into the pile of subpar goalies the Flyers franchise has chewed through going back decades.

I hope they don’t have Bobby Brink room with Wade Allison so he doesn’t pick up his brittle tendencies.

Quite a night for Lou Nolan. Well deserved and the Flyers did it right. Could have done without that second period play nosedive, but nice to watch a family atmosphere game.

Coasting is a rare thing in the NHL and Hart is in no potion to coast. If you coast, you are replaced end of story. There are hundreds of guys behind you looking to take your spot. Hart is in no position to coast. The only players in a position to coast are the high $$$$$$ long term players. Even then they can be bought out at some point.

These are professional athletes, if coasting was how they operated they wouldnt have made it this far. The work ethic needed to get into the NHL just doesnt disappear over night

Glad to see the youngsters getting to display their wares. Attard, Cates, Tippet, and York have all impressed. Frost is an exciting player but just cannot make those bonehead plays. If this exact team started next season they would still be a Lottery team, just not competing for the worst team in the league award. With the return of Coots and Ellis(?) where will they be? Hoping they can cut bait with JVR to get a little cap space!

Brink is already about 5'9 180, so pretty thick kid.

I think he'll be OK, but it's gonna be a question mark until he actually shows that it isn't.

It will be interesting to see what Yeo does with the lines with Brink coming in. We are lite on centers. I don’t know if Farabee is well yet. If so, I sat Thompson here. I don’t really think Atkinson has played well lately but I wouldn’t sit him. Who knows if JVR sits.

Cates - Hayes - Tippett
TK - Laughton - Brink
JVR - Frost - Farabee
Lindblom - Patrick - Atkinson

Attard and York have made the same mistakes. On the Grant goal last night, York doesn't seal off the player on the wall and then after getting possession, turned it over leading to the goal. York is not a top pair player right now but shows a lot of promise.
